JULY 31, 2013 BY SAGARMEDIA UP woman IAS officer reports to Revenue board Amid demands by opposition parties to revoke her suspension, IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal has reported to the Revenue Board, sources said on Wednesday. Nagpal, who was suspended on 27 th July night as Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar district, met the Revenue Board Chairman Jagan Mathews on Tuesday evening, they said. 28-year-old Nagpal, a 2009 batch IAS officer of Punjab cadre shifted to UP cadre in August last year, was suspended for demolishing a wall of a religious place but opposition allege that her crackdown on mining activities led to the suspension. Nagpal was in news for curbing illegal mining activities in the district and got over two dozen FIR registered against those involved in illegal sand mining in G B Nagar. Special flying squads were formed by the officer to stop the raging menace along Yamuna and Hindon rivers in western Uttar Pradesh.
