Delhi protests for Amarnath yatra
Why shrine board have Non hindus & why not yatra from 4th June, asks VHP

New Delhi, May 11, 2012. Hurt by regular reduction in shri Amar Nath
Yatra duration every year, angry hindus today raised their voice by
protesting at Jantar Mantar and burn effigy of J&K Governor shri NN
Bohra in New Delhi today. Addressing the large gathering, member
advisory board Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Ex MP shri B.L. Sharma
“Prem” said that till year 2009 yatra was for 60 days, in 2010 it
reduced to 55, in 2011 it was for 45 and now for 2012 it further
reduced to 39 days. Even if devotees are multiplying every year, board
is restricting duration of yatra. Current year pilgrimage is expected
to cross the figure of 8 Lakhs but as per the Governor’s plan half of
them would not have darshan because of safe ceiling of 10 Thousand
pilgrims per day. We will start yatra as per religious schedule i.e.
from Jyesth Poornima (June 4) at any cost, he sounded.
Addressing protestors carrying saffron flags, banners & play cards,
secretary general VHP Delhi shri Satyendra Mohan alleged that J&K
governor with the support of centre playing in the hands of separatist
groups to kill the yatra. State convener of Jammu Kashmir People’s
Forum shri Mahendra Mehta said that Amarnath yatra played an important
role in national unity and the GOI must promote it instead of putting
restrictions on it. State convener Bajrang Dal shri Shiv Kumar asked
that why boards 70% employees are muslims and some members of the of
shrine board are of non believers? Addressing the angry devotees, shri
Avinash Khanna, MP said board has no right to decide the yatra dates
but to facilitate it.
Protestors burning effigy of Governor shri NN Bohra and Bhole shankers
Tandav nriyta were the points of attraction in the demonstration. The
demonstration was also addressed by the VHP state president shri
Swadesh Pal, BJP spokesperson shri Tarun Vijay, Forum’s shri Ajay
Kaul, smt Nansi Kaul, shri Manoj Khandelwal etc.

Mr Hassan Rouhani ... got the absolute majority of votes and was elected as president," Najjar said. Tehran Mayor Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, a hard-line conservative, lagged behind with about 16 percent of the votes. Iran's top nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili, he too a hard-line conservative, earned 11 percent. The voter turnout was 72.7 percent. Save Dissent to Save Democracy   THE rising instances of physical violence and threats against political opponents and the inability to accept dissent must raise huge concerns amongst all of us who see democracy as perhaps the really stellar achievement since Independence. AAP’s attack on BJP headquarters and acts of arson committed under the very noses of their elite leadership; the attacks on Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia in Gujarat in the last two days; the recent manhandling of the caretaker of journalist Siddharth Varadarajan’s house by some garden variety thugs; and the violence and threats meted out regularly to their political opponents by political parties is surely deplorable and condemnable. This is a fatally flawed trend which will destroy the very foundations of our democratic institutions if not pushed back with all the strength and condemnation that the civil society can mobilise. Replaying the past To begin with, it must be clarified that we should ...
