Prime Minister Hazem El-Beblawi on Monday resigned after a Cabinet
meeting.

Beblawi announced his cabinet's resignation on state TV. The decision was made after the cabinet meeting attended by armed forces chief and Defence Minister Field Marshal Abdul Fattah al-Sisi. Interim President Adly Mansour is expected to accept the resignation and commission Ibrahim Mahleb, minister of housing in Beblawi's government, to form the new cabinet. The reason for the Cabinet's resignation was not immidieately known. Sisi, who ousted Islamist President Mohammed Morsi in July, is expected to announce soon that he will run for president. Rouhani wins Iran's Presidential election Moderate cleric Hassan Rouhani won Iran's presidential election on Saturday, the interior ministry said, scoring a surprising landslide victory over conservative hardliners without the need of a second round run-off.Interior minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar announced on state television that Rouhani secured just over 50 percent of the ballot based on a 72 percent turnout of 50 million eligible voters.
