Last month January2017 Gujarat was ranked 5th in Power Generation behind UP, Maharashtra, Chhatisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, obviously Number 4 in West Zone.
Out of 6 Big States reporting NEGATIVE Generation 4 are BJP states and one BJP ally.

Hamid Ansari embarks on 5-day visit to Rwanda, Uganda

Vice President Hamid Ansari left on a five-day visit to Rwanda and Uganda today as part of efforts to build diplomatic relations with the African countries. He is accompanied by Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Vijay Sampla, four Members of Parliament and other officials.
AIR correspondent covering the visit says it will help building the contemporary relationship between these two countries and India. On the first leg of the visit, Mr Ansari will pay homage at the genocide museum in Kigali, Rwanda and interact with the Indian community there and attend a banquet hosted by their Prime Minister.
During his visit to Uganda, the Vice President will be meeting his counterpart and the President of Uganda. Mr. Ansari would also interact with the Indian community in Kampala.

Andaman volcano active again

The country’s only active volcano located in the remotest Barren Island in Andaman has begun spewing smoke and lava again.
A team of scientists led by Dr Abhay V Mudholkar from National Institute of Oceanography, Goa, reported that the volcano is active.
The Barren Island volcano, located 140-km north-east of Port Blair, dormant for more than 150 years, started erupting in 1991 and has since then shown intermittent activity.

UP Polling is underway Phase III

Polling is underway for the third phase of assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. Voting is taking place for 69 constituencies spread over 12 districts of UP  About 53 percent polling has been recorded till 3 PM. Polling, which began at 7 AM, will end at 5 PM. The fate of 826 candidates in this phase will be decided by 2.41 crore voters.
Polling is progressing smoothly barring some minor incidents. Voting was affected at some booths in Lucknow, Bijnaur, Kanpur Dehat and other places due to EVM machines which was rectified. Some incidents of poll boycott were also noticed at Laharpur of Sitapur and Rania Gogamau of Kanpur Dehat district due to some local issues. However, authorities finally persuaded voters to exercise their franchise.
Elaborate security arrangements have been made to ensure free and fair polling. The districts where polling is taking place in this phase are Farrukhabad, Hardoi, Kannauj, Mainpuri, Etawah, Kanpur, Kanpur Dehat, Auraiya, Lucknow, Unnao, Sitapur and Barabanki.
Modi today said that development is must in Uttar pradesh for progress of the state. Addressing an election rally in the Fatehpur district, Mr Modi said 14 years of lack of development should end now.
Attacking both Samajwadi Party and its alliance partner Congress, he said earlier samajwadi party had refused to make alliance with Congress but later they made an alliance for their own interests.
me Minister said lack of development and job opportunities in the state people compelled people to migrate from their places. He criticsed SP government for expending huge amount on media and publicity and said people are sharp enough to judge the right and wrong for themselves. In Fatehpur, elections are going be held in fourth phase on 23rd February.
