Nicolas Maduro’s back in regional vote in Venezuela
Venezuela government retains power even after protest by opposition after its oil economy nosedive and food and medicine price skyrocketed.
Nicolas Maduro’s government has won a majority of governorship in Venezuela’s regional election on Sunday. Electoral board president Tibisay Lucena said the ruling Socialist Party took 17 governorship, versus five for the opposition Democratic Unity coalition, media reported.
The ruling Socialist Party previously controlled 20 of the 23 state governorships. “‘Chavismo’ is alive, in the street, and triumphant,” Maduro said in a speech to the nation, referring to the ruling movement’s name for former president Hugo Chavez.
The opposition coalition has refused to recognize the results of gubernatorial elections. “We have serious suspicions and doubts,” election campaign chief Gerardo Blyde told reporters, without presenting any evidence of fraud.
Election in Austria,Sebastian Kurz leads
Austrian conservative set to become the youngest leaders of Europe with counting on out going Foreign Minister, Sabstain kurz narrowly ahead in position to form coalition government. The election are mainly on plank of immigration plagued Europe 2015-16.
Two anti-migrant parties are leading in the Austrian parliamentary election, with the conservative People’s Party (OVP), headed by Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz, in first place, according to preliminary official results. The right-wing Freedom Party (FPO) is second.
Two anti-migrant parties are leading in the Austrian parliamentary election, with the conservative People’s Party (OVP), headed by Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz, in first place, according to preliminary official results. The right-wing Freedom Party (FPO) is second.
Kurz announced his party’s victory soon after the release of the exit poll results. A “great responsibility has been placed” on the OVP, he tweeted, adding that his party accepts it “with great humility.”
He also said that his party’s victory is “not a triumph over others but a chance for a change.”
At just 31 years old, Kurz is set to be become the world’s youngest national leader.
According to the preliminary results published by the Austrian Interior Ministry, Kurz’s OVP has taken a clear lead in the election with 31.4 percent of the vote. The right-wing anti-immigrant FPO came in ahead of the Social Democrats in a very close race for second place.
FPO secured 27.4 percent backing, the Social Democrats received 26.7 percent. Both parties repeatedly swapped places as the votes were being counted.
The results are regarded as a success for the right-wing populists, as they received seven percent more of the vote than in the previous election, in which the FPO received 20.5 percent.
The results for the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPO), which won the previous election and was the senior member of the ruling coalition before the snap election, is already being called by some analysts the worst in the party’s history, as previously it always came in either first or second.
In the view of the election results for the Social Democrats, SPO head and former Chancellor Christian Kern said that he will still hold the post of party chief. “We have a responsibility to our voters,” he told Austrian ORF broadcaster.
The right-wing populist party now has a good chance to enter a coalition government.
With 31 percent of the vote, the OVP is now expected to become the strongest force in the Austrian National Council, which has 183 seats. It still, however, lacks a majority in the legislature and could seek a coalition with the right-wing populists, as a revival of the OVP-SPO coalition seems unlikely.
Austria Election today set the Europe the continent right wing thinking another unique opportunity to its union to gather together on broader points but to focus on it’s intrinsic strength. Immigration dominated the election.

Kurz, nicknamed “wunderwuzzi”, is expected to form a coalition with the anti-immigration FPOe of Heinz-Christian Strache, 48. It would be the first time it has entered government since 2000 under Joerg Haider.
Another option for Kurz would be another “grand coalition” with the SPOe, but after 10 acrimonious years governing together — ended early by Kurz in May — this is seen as less likely.
The FPOe”s return to power in the wealthy EU member would be a fresh headache for Brussels as it struggles with Brexit and the rise of nationalists in Germany, Hungary, Poland and elsewhere.
Like the Alternative for Germany, which last month became the third-largest party in the Bundestag, and France”s National Front, the FPOe has stoked concerns about a record influx of migrants into Europe.
The party was founded by ex-Nazis in the 1950s — Strache flirted with neo-Nazism in his youth — and is highly critical of the European Union.
Kurz said he will negotiate with all the parties to form a coalition. He suggested his party is open to talks with the Freedom Party.
Local media say the People’s Party is likely to partner with the Freedom Party.
Preliminary results announced by the internal affairs ministry show the People’s Party leads with 31.4 percent. The far-right Freedom Party is second with 27.4 percent. In third place at 26.7 percent is the center-left Social Democratic Party, which was the coalition partner of the People’s Party.
The major issue in the election was the country’s immigration policy.
It wants EU sanctions on Russia lifted.Media agencies
Shubhankar Sharma bags TAKE Open
Shubhankar Sharma bags TAKE Open title with clinical final round performance
Aman Raj finishes runner-up
Chandigarh, October 15, 2017: Shubhankar Sharma, the most experienced amongst the youngsters bunched in the top-5 after round three, finally came through at his home course, the Chandigarh Golf Club, on Sunday, to bag the prestigious TAKE Open Golf Championship 2017.
Shubhankar, an Asian Tour regular, posted a clinical five-under-67 in round four to overcome a two-shot overnight deficit and end up with a winning total of 12-under-276 at the Rs. 1 crore event.
Patna’s Aman Raj, the overnight leader by one stroke, carded a one-under-71 in round four, to finish two shots behind the winner in second place at 10-under-278.
Chandigarh’s Akshay Sharma (71) finished a creditable third at nine-under-279.
Shubhankar Sharma (68-70-71-67), lying overnight third, two off the lead, managed to turn it around on the final day sinking seven birdies at the cost of just two bogeys. Sharma, who has five top-5 finishes on the Asian Tour, had a poor start as he three-putted the opening hole for a bogey.
The 21-year-old then got his new putter to work immediately, making three birdie conversions from a range of five to eight feet on the second, third and fifth, which got him back in the mix.
Shubhankar then took control on the back-nine with a run of three birdies against a bogey between the 13th and the 16th. He was well and truly on top after his 40-feet birdie conversion on the 14th.
Even as nearest rivals Aman Raj and Akshay Sharma’s challenge faded away in the final stages, Shubhankar knocked in a 25-footer for birdie on the 18th to seal his fifth title on the PGTI and a winning cheque of Rs. 15 lakh.
Shubhankar said, “I made an important change to my game today by changing my putter before the round. The new putter really helped my cause in the last round.
“I started poorly with a three-putt for bogey on the first, but told myself to just keep creating birdie opportunities for myself and the putts will drop. I bounced back well with crucial birdies on second and third that helped me claw my way back from a three-shot deficit.
“The turning point were my birdies on the 13th and 14th. I was full of confidence from there on. The par on the 17th turned out to be decisive.
“It’s great to win at my home course and at a tournament that was sponsored by Mr. Srinivasan H R who also sponsors me. It couldn’t have been better for me. I want to thank him for supporting me for the past two years.
“It’s quite satisfying to win at the Chandigarh Golf Club course, which has one of the most challenging layouts in the country. It is a true test of one’s skills. The high scores this week show how tough the course was. I moved here to Chandigarh just last year and the Chandigarh Golf Club has given me a lot of support since then.
“The win gives me loads of confidence to go and do the same on the Asian Tour. I think if I can play the same way on the Asian Tour, my game is good enough to win there as well.”
Aman Raj (73-67-67-71), the third round leader, held on to his lead on the front-nine where he made two birdies and a bogey. The 22-year-old finally conceded the lead with two missed chip-putts that resulted in bogeys on the 11th and 12th.
Aman did fight back with two birdies on the last six holes but still fell well short of the rampaging Shubhankar’s total. It was Aman’s second runner-up finish of the season which pushed him up from 15th to seventh place in the PGTI Order of Merit.
Aman said, “My hitting was solid once again but I paid the price for missing a lot of putts today. Whenever I missed the green, I couldn’t make the chip-putts. But I’ll take a lot of positives from this performance since it gets me in contention in the PGTI Order of Merit race.”
Akshay Sharma (71-68-69-71), who was overnight second, one behind the lead, slipped to third on Sunday after a round of 71 that saw him make four birdies against three bogeys. Akshay’s top-3 finish however, lifted him from 35th to 14th position in the PGTI Order of Merit.
Karandeep Kochhar (70), the 18-year-old rookie from Chandigarh took joint fourth place at eight-under-280 along with Bengaluru’s Khalin Joshi (69).
Gurgaon-based Jyoti Randhawa (68) claimed sixth place at seven-under-281 while Rashid Khan (68) of Delhi and Chandigarh’s Sujjan Singh (70) were a further shot back in tied seventh.

12,000 HP LNG Loco Best TECH at IREE 2017 – IR Confused
October14, 2017 (C) Ravinder Singh progressindia2015@gmail.com
What amazed me most was the ENERGY ECONOMY achieved by A Russian 12,000 HP LNGLocomotive – hauled 12,000 Tons of Payload or equal to 1200 10T Trucks in weight and 5000 Trucks in service. It consumed just 17,000 Kg of LNG in running 750 kilometer. If this load is be carried by Trucks would consume 1,70,000-2,40,000 Liter of Diesel. [200L x 1,200] This translates to 95% reduction in GHG Emissions.
A Cargo Jetliner would burn 17,000 Jet Fuel in transporting just 100 Tons of Payload to 750 km. This is 99.95% reduction in GHG Emissions.
Further more I calculated these 12,000 HP LNG Locos if required to haul 656 BnNTM of Freight achieved in 2015-16 – would burn only 1.25 million Tons of LNG against 2.874 MKL of Diesel or more than 2.5 million tons of Diesel [Mix of Electric & Diesel Energy].
Ø 50% Saving in Fuel Burning. That’s why it was CRITICAL to build Dedicated Freight Corridors.
Ø 12,000 HP Locos On Dedicated Lines or Dedicated Schedules could operate over 1000 km per day.
DULLARDS in Railways Don’t Understand This – Undertaking Loot Programs.
‘Gas Turbine Engine (GTE):
Capable of delivering minimum 8.3 to 9 MW engine max. Output.
Minimum efficiency of GTE at full load condition 30 %. Higher efficiencies shall be preferable. Gas turbine shall have electric start system facility.’
There is practically no price difference between BHEL make and Russian Locomotive Price – then why Invite Bids to develop new Locos which would lead to delays.
RDSO PRESCRIBED 30% GT Thermal Efficiency when 39% was available. RDSO of IR Were Promoting Some OUTDATED Technology – A 12000 HP Loco would burn 3 Tons more fuel every day assuming 500 km daily run for 30 years – 30,000 T in lifetime LOSS @ Rs.50,000/T is Rs.150 Cr. For 1000 Locos Rs.1,50,000 Cr loss due to DULLARDS.
The cost difference between 12,000 HP LNG Loco Rs.40-45 Cr which is same as ALSTOM Electric Locos of 12,000 HP and India made 6000X2 Electric Locos cost Rs.34 Cr is onlyRs.10 Cr average lower, but LNG Locos shall AVOID Electrification, Power Generation &Substation cost, T&D Losses, Coal Burn – savings of upto Rs.3,00,000 Cr Capex.
500 Nos to 1000 Nos of 12,000 HP LNG Locos would cost just Rs.20,000 Cr to Rs.40,000 Cr.
The advantage of 12,000 HP LNG Locos is that it can haul freight trains on all broad gauge lines – Single Lines, Branch Lines, Un-electrified Lines, Electrified Lines.
