(live-PR.com) - Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) was founded on 29th August 1964, on the auspicious day of Shri Krishna Janmashtami , with the blessings of the Saint shakti of Bharat.The objective of the VHP is to organise - consolidate the Hindu society and to serve - protect the Hindu Dharma. A strong, effective, enduring and an ever increasing presence of VHP is seen in lakhs of villages & towns in Bharat.The right wing Vishwa Hindu Parishad organization with Swami Chinmayananda as founder president and former Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) member S.S. Apte as general secretary, with Sikh leader Master Tara Singh as one of the co-founders.It was first mooted at a conference in Pawai, Sandipani Sadhanalaya, Mumbai on 29 August 1964. The conference was hosted by RSS sarsanghchalak M.S. Golwalkar. The date coincided with the festival of Janmashtami. Several representatives from the Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist and Jain faiths were present in the meeting, as well as the Dalai Lama. VHP further decided that it shall be a non-political organization and that no office bearer of any political party shall be simultaneously an office bearer in the Parishad. The following aims and objectives were set before the Parishad.

To consolidate and strengthen the Hindu Society.
To protect, promote and propagate Hindu values of life, the ethical and the spiritual in the context of modern times.
To keep in touch with all the Hindus living abroad, and to organize and help them in all possible ways in protecting their Hindu identity also popularly known as Hindutva.

Through over 32000 service projects in the field of health, education, self- empowerment, Gram Shiksha Mandir etc. VHP is strengthening the grass root level of the Hindu society. Through the consistent efforts at eradication of social evils like untouchability, VHP is absolving the Hindu society & rejuvenating it to express it's inherent Hindu Unity.


Vishwa Hindu Parishad has announced today a NEW office bearer as follows: Shri Raghav Reddy, Hydrabad : International President Dr Pravin Togadia, Gujarat : Elevated as International Working President Shri Ashok Chowgule, Mumbai : working president VHP External Chmapatrai, Delhi; International,General secretary, ASHOKJI Singhal and S Vedantumji will Giude VHP as Advisor The above changes come into implementation with immediate effect. The Governing Council of VHP & the Trustee Board have already passed the resolution against reservations to Muslims & Christians.

VHP plans to take a global & nation-wide public awareness campaign & democratic agitation in case Govt makes any move towards either giving part of OBC / SC / ST / NT quota to Muslims or Christians or gives reservations to Muslims by forcing constitutional amendments on Bharat’s majority for the minority vote bank politics. Announced the newly elevated Working President of VHP Dr Pravin Togadia, “We whole-heartedly welcome the new energetic President & a ‘Sweet-man’ Shri Raghav Reddy & the new VHP Governing Council aims at enhancing the efforts of total Hindu protection & well-being through continued socio-religious Sewa work, anti-conversion activities & democratic agitations necessary to strengthen socio-political power of Hindus.”
