Encuentros con la narrativa: “Cadáveres exquisitos. Un recorrido por las letras argentinas”, por Martín Caparrós

Miércoles 8 de agosto a las 6.30pm en la sala de conferencias. 
Sinopsis:
Desde el primer español que llegó a sus costas, Juan Díaz de Solís, descubridor del río de la Plata, comido por los indios, las letras y las muertes han estado muy ligadas en la tradición argentina. Un largo recorrido que nos lleva, por ahora, hasta Los Living, la última ficción de Caparrós y premio Herralde de Novela 2011.
Biografía:

Martín Caparrós nació en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires en 1957. Comenzó su carrera periodística en el desaparecido diario Noticias en 1973. Entre 1976 y 1983 vivió el exilio en París (donde se licenció en Historia en la Sorbona) y en Madrid. Ha hecho periodismo deportivo, taurino, cultural, gastronómico, político y policial en prensa gráfica, radial y televisiva. Sus artículos aparecen en diversos medios de América y Europa. Dirigió los mensuarios El PorteñoBabelPágina/30Sal y Pimienta y Cuisine & Vins. Ha publicado una decena de novelas, libros de viajes y ensayos, entre los que se destacan No velas a tus muertos (novela, 1986).

Ya son muchos los que dicen que la no ficción -la crónica- ha superado a la ficción -la novela- como forma narrativa principal en las letras latinomericanas actuales. Para presentar la tendencia y discutir esta cuestión, un repaso de la crónica, el nuevo género "de moda" en América Latina.

Synopsis:
Since the first Spanish who arrived to the shore, Juan Díaz de Solís, discoverer of Río de Plata, eaten by the Indians, the letters and the deaths have been linked in the argentine tradition. A long journey that will take us, by now, to Los Living, Caparrós last fiction and Herralde Novel Award in 2011.
Biography:
Martín Caparrós was born in the City of Buenos Aires in 1957. He started his journalistic career in the now disappeared newspaper “Noticias” in 1973. Between 1976 and 1983 he lived exiled in Paris, where he got his degree in History, in Sorbonne, and in Madrid. He has done journalism in areas like sports, bullfighting, culture, gastronomy, politics and police in graphic press, radio and television. His articles have been published in America and Europe. He directed the monthly pubblications of El PorteñoBabelPágina/30Sal y Pimienta y Cuisine & Vins. He has published dozens of novels, travel books and essays, among which we can find No velas a tus muertos( Don’t mourn your death, 1986).

Many people think that non-fiction - the chronicle- has outstriped the fiction - the novel- as main narrative way in the latinamerican writting. This conference is aimed to present this trend and discuss the topic, to review the chronicle, the new "trendy" genre in Latin America.
