8th edition of CG Open to host 120 golfers  
Mumbai, November 26, 2015: Avantha Group Company CG and the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) will host the country’s leading golfers in the 8th edition of CG Open. Led by reigning Rolex Ranking champion Shankar Das, nearly 120 players will feature in the Rs 1 crore prize money CG Open 2015, to be held at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club (BPGC) from December 2 to 5, 2015. This marquee event is an important week on the PGTI calendar and the tour in western India.
CG Open, the most lucrative golfing event in the Western Region of the country, will culminate with a Pro-Am event on December 6. The CG Open will witness some of India’s best golfing talent vie for the top honours.
The former CG Open champions contending this year include Harendra Gupta, Mandeo Singh Pathania, Kunal Bhasin from Australia and Ashok Kumar. The other leading Indians in the field are the seasoned Mukesh Kumar and youngsters Abhijit Singh Chadha and rookie Udayan Mane, all currently inside the top-5 of the Rolex Ranking. Abhijit Singh Chadha is the highest ranked player in the field as he occupies second place in the Rolex Ranking.
Besides former champion Kunal Bhasin, the other prominent foreign players in the field are Sri Lankans N Thangaraja, Anura Rohana and K Prabagaran, Nepal's Shivaram Shrestha, Bangladesh's Md Zamal Hossain Mollah and South African Tyron Marc McComb.
The two prominent Mumbai players in the field are Anil Bajrang Mane and Wilson Raj D’Mello.
