Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, the chairperson of the National League for Democracy, thanks to the MPs of the respective political parties who support U Htin Kyaw and U Henry Van Thio. She is proud on the MPs of the NLD who unitedly voted them with the rule and regulations related to the presidential election process.
She thanks to the people who peacefully supported the actions of the NLD and trusts that she will be able to overcome together with the people the challenges which will be faced ahead.Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, the Chairperson of the National League for Democracy, attended the Union parliament session which elected the president of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar on 15th March, 2016. The parliament elected U Htin Kyaw as the president and U Henry Van Thio and U Myint Swe as vice-presidents.

Status of Implementation of the RTE Act, 2009

You are cordially invited in the 6th National Stocktaking Convention organized by Right to Education forum on 21st March, 2016 at Constitution Club, New Delhi.
The Convention will be inaugurated by Hon’ble Vice President of India, Sri Hamid Ansari and addressed by renowned educationist and President, Council for Social Development, Prof. Muchkund Dubey; Prof. J. B. G. Tilak, NUEPA; Ambarish Rai, National Convenor, RTE Forum, Mr. Louis George Arsenault, Country Representative, UNICEF and others.
More than 500 participants including representatives from 19 state RTE Forum, teachers’ and student organisations, educationists, social activists and NGOs will participate in the convention. They will share their experiences regarding implementation of RTE Act in their states.
A draft report on the status of RTE Act after 6 years of its inception will be released. After inaugural session there will be a Plenary Session followed by a presentation and then three parallel session namely Community & Inclusion; Teachers & Quality of Education and Privatisation and its impact on RTE.
The Concluding Session will be addressed by the Parliamentarians, State Conveners, and educationists.
We will start our Convention with tea at 10.30 am. Vice President will inaugurate the Convention at 11 a.m.
A Press Conference will be organized at 1 P. M. after the Inaugural Session.
Important Note: For Inaugural Session a PIB card or an invite card issued by RTE Forum with id proof will be mandatory due to protocol of Hon’ble Vice President. Therefore you are requested to confirm your participation with contact no. /address so that we can provide cards in time.
