3rd edition at the Škoda Prize Finale in February in New Delhi.

The ŠKODA Prize, one of the most prestigious awards on the Indian visual arts scene, will unveil the winners of its 3rd edition at the Škoda Prize Finale in February in New Delhi.
H.E. Mr. Miloslav Stasek, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to India, will host the Škoda Prize Finale, a private awards ceremony at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in New Delhi onFebruary 1st, 2013, at 8:00p.m.
The evening’s will commence with a welcome note and a short address from Martin Da Costa (CEO, Seventy EMG), Sudhir Rao (MD, Škoda Auto India), Geeta Kapur (art historian) andSangita Jindal (Jury member, Art India Breakthrough Artist Award at the Škoda Prize).
The winners of the Škoda Prize 2012 and the Art India Breakthrough Artist Award at the Škoda Prize will be unveiled. Chief Guest, William Kentridge, will present the trophy to this year’s winner, who will take the stage and have the opportunity to address the audience.
The evening will feature music by the band Furbar Getto and a special screening of the Škoda Prize film. The Škoda Prize film is a documentary on the shortlisted Top-4 artists of the Škoda Prize and their art practice.
The Škoda Prize show will be open to the public till 28th February 2013 at the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), New Delhi

Save Dissent to Save Democracy   THE rising instances of physical violence and threats against political opponents and the inability to accept dissent must raise huge concerns amongst all of us who see democracy as perhaps the really stellar achievement since Independence.
