Huawei & Flipkart come together to announce exclusive partnership for Honor series


-          The first ever tie-up brings together, Huawei, the 3rd largest smartphone brand in the world and Flipkart, the largest Indian retailer
-          Announces the launch of 4 new ultra-efficient devices in its Honor series- Honor 6, Media Pad X1 7.0, Honor Holly and Honor T1 exclusively on Flipkart
-          Devices to be exclusively sold only via Flipkart, no offline retail for these products
-          Honor will be Huawei’s online brand
New Delhi, September 29, 2014: Huawei, the 3rd largest smartphone brand in the world with a market share of 6.7% (IDC), today announced an exclusive tie-up with India’s largest e-commerce marketplace Flipkart, for the Honor range of devices. This new range will be sold exclusively through Flipkart with the Honor 6 smartphone going on sale starting 6th October, 2014.
Both the players announced this tie-up, at the onset of the festive season to make the new Honor devices including- 2 smartphones - Honor 6 and Honor Holly and 2 tablets - Honor X1  and Honor T1-available to the 26 million regular visitors of Flipkart. Honor series will be Huawei’s online brand.
At the unveiling of the products, Mr. Cai Liqun, India CEO, Huawei Telecommunications (India) commented, “India is a strategic market for Huawei and a big focus for Huawei Consumer Business Group. The company has performed extremely well in the market in the last two years demonstrating a firm commitment for India. The overwhelming response from our customers and strong business relationships have further inspired us to grow bigger and faster in India. Our product line up for the next quarter is exciting and promising and we are confident that our tie-up with Flipkart will further fuel our growth and success in India.”
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Allen Wang, President, Consumer Business Group India, said, “Honor will be Huawei’s online brand. Honor 6 is our flagship product that will come with Octa-Core HiSilicon Kirin 920 SoC Processor & 3GB RAM. It supports LTE CAT6 and is 4G-future ready with Band 3 support expected to be available with Indian operators next year. With JDI 12.7 cms(5”) in-cell FHD display and 445 PPI, the stylish Honor6 also offers rich-features such as a 13 MP rear camera and 5MP front camera with 10-level auto face enhancement and 88ࠬarge viewing angle for panoramic selfies. We are confident that it is the best product in the category so far and our partnership with Flipkart will help us reach out to online consumers.”
