PGTI Feeder Tour event at Lucknow Golf Club from September 9

Lucknow, September 8, 2014: The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) will stage the fifth event of its 2014 Feeder Tour season at the Lucknow Golf Club from September 9 - 11, 2014. The tournament carries a prize purse of Rs. 6 lakh.

The tournament at Lucknow will have a field of 58 players. The event will be played over three rounds of 18 holes each with the cut being applied after 36 holes.

Defending champion Sanjay Kumar and Vijay Kumar will lead the local challenge along with the other top professionals from Lucknow such as Rajesh Kumar Rawat, Sheeraz Kalra, Bhoop Singh, Manoj Kumar, Amardeep Rawat, Sanjeev Kumar, Eshanvir Singh, Rishi & Chandra Kumar Yadav, to name a few. Chandigarh’s Akshay Sharma and Delhi’s Gulfam, currently placed first and second on the Feeder Tour Order of Merit respectively, will also be among the top contenders at the event.


Akshay Sharma and Gulfam are currently engaged in a keen contest for the top spot in the Order of Merit. While Akshay, the winner of the season’s first event in Jaipur, has earnings of Rs. 1,89,240, Gulfam, who bagged the fourth event of the season at Forest Hill Golf Resort in Punjab last week, is not far behind with earnings of Rs. 1,48,500. The winner of the 2014 PGTI Feeder Tour Order of Merit will get an exemption to play on the PGTI in 2015.


The PGTI Feeder Tour event at Lucknow Golf Club is the fifth of a total of six events scheduled to be staged on the Feeder Tour this season. The last event of the season will also be staged in Lucknow next week but at a different venue.
