Sachin Pilot to Lead The Indian Delegation to Global Cyber Meet in London The Union Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Shri Sachin Pilot would lead a delegation to attend International Cyber Conference being organised in London on November 1-2, 2011. The Conference will deliberate upon the issues relating to Economic and Social benefits of Cyber Space, anticipating, preventing and tackling Cyber Crime and International implications of actions in Cyber Space. The delegation headed by Shri Pilot would comprise senior officials from the Government of India. The Minister would also hold bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the Conference. India’s participation in this Conference reflects her commitment to encourage international engagement in matters of cyber-security.

Chikkarangappa is set to make another course record at Maharashtra Open amateur golf championship which will get underway from 25 th -28 th October at Par-71 Poona Golf Club, Pune. The event is the fourth leg of The Indian Amateur Golf Tour calendar organized by The Indian Golf Union, in association with PAR Sports Leisure Adventure Management Pvt. Ltd. (SLAM G). Bangalore duo Chikkarangappa and Khalin Joshi along with Delhi’s Gagan Verma – all three top ranked players on the IGU’s merit list shall vie once again for the top slot in this edition of the tour. They are, however, likely to be given a keen competition by local favourites Aditya Bhadarkar and Farrokh Mody . Chikkarangappa, who won back to back IGU’s amateur tournaments in Coimbatore and Bangalore in June, said, “I have good memories of this course as I am still holding this course record of 8-under 63 which I played in Western India Junior golf Championship in 2008.

Saranda Action Plan for naxal-hit districts

The Centre has finalised a developmental action plan in Naxal affected districts particularly in eastern India. Talking to reporters in New Delhi yesterday, Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh said that the 'Saranda Action Plan', prepared by Rural Development Ministry, will be implemented firstly in Jharkhand's Naxal-hit Saranda district after a meeting with the state's Deputy Chief Minister Sudesh Mahato, CRPF Director General Vijayakumar and other top officials. He said, a seven-member team from the Ministry is going to Saranda to discuss the issue. According to the plan, immediate priority is to distribute solar lanterns and bicycles, construction of prefab houses for BPL families under the Indira Awas Yojana and bridges with the help of the Army and special water supply - hand pump schemes.

SIAM said sales in India are likely to rise 2% to 4% this fiscal year to next March, down from an earlier forecast of 10% to 12%. SIAM proposes to scrap all private cars made before 1996 thus to drive sales of new vehicles.SIAM provides a window to the Indian Automobile industry and aims to enhance exchanges and communication, expand economics, trade and technical cooperation between the Automotive Industry and its international counterparts.In its latest reports SIAM said that  passenger vehicle sales likely to slow to single-digits mainly due to falling demand.
