PM for zero defect products   Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday asked the industries to go beyond 'Make in India' and develop the country as a global brand by producing zero defect products.  Addressing a national workshop on 'Make in India programme' in New Delhi, Modi said without this the domestic manufacturers cannot make an impact on the global market.  He said there should be no restrictions on movement of men, material, money, machinery and minerals so that India can achieve a balanced development. NATO mission ends in Afghanistan   NATO has officially ended its combat mission in Afghanistan marking the end of 13-year-old war against the Taliban regime.  A ceremony was held in Kabul on Sunday on this occasion. This ceremony marked the end of longest war in American history.  The withdrawal was formally announced at a low-key ceremony in Kabul by International Security Assistance Force.  The combat mission started in 2001 --- a month after New York's world trade towers were downed in a terror strike.  NATO forces joined hands to dislodge the Taliban rule which had turned Afghanistan into a safe haven for terrorists.  Around 130,000 troops from 50 nations were present in the mission during its peak in 2011.  Close to 3500 soldiers lost their lives in the 13-year-long conflict that devastated the core Al-Qaeda leadership.  Afghanistan acknowledged the efforts of the international force on this occasion.  "On behalf of President Ghani and the

Crimea annexation 'strategic mistake' on part of Russian President: Obama Dec 30, US President Barack Obama has said that Russian President Vladimir Putin made a strategic mistake when he annexed Crimea, in a move that was not so smart. Obama said, those thinking his Russian counterpart was a genius had been proven wrong by Russia's economic crisis. Obama said, international sanctions have made Russia's economy particularly vulnerable to changes in oil price. He also refused to rule out opening a US embassy in Iran soon. President Recep Tayyip to chair first cabinet meeting Dec 30,  1:24 PM In Turkey, the country’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that he will chair the cabinet meeting next month. Mr. Erdogan told reporters in Ankara that he would gather cabinet ministers at his palace on 19th January and it is allowed by the constitution. Earlier President’s including his predecessor, Abdullah Gul largely performed a ceremonial role. But Erdogan has made clear his ambitions to have an active role for the President in Turkish polity. His decision to chair the cabinet meeting is a first of its kind in the history of Turkey and is being seen as a move towards Presidential form of Government in the country. The founder of the ruling Justice and Development Party, AKP, Mr. Erdogan has served as country’s all powerful Prime Minister during 2001 to 2014.

There are no direct military risks today in the region, according to Aleksandr Grushko.
