KUALA LUMPUR, 10 April 2012 – With the steady rise of its number of guests travelling to and from Japan, AirAsia X, the long-haul low cost carrier affiliate of AirAsia has widened its AirAsia INSURE travel protection plan to the thriving Japanese market.
The service, available within AirAsia's online booking system from April 2012, is provided via an alliance with Japanese insurer Sompo Japan Insurance Inc.
AirAsia guests who have advanced booking with the airline are encouraged to add on the AirAsia INSURE travel protection plan by using the 'Manage my Booking' feature on AirAsia..
AirAsia X started flying to Japan in December 2010 with its first stop Haneda in Tokyo, followed by Osaka in December 2011. Since then, it has flown in excess of 70,000 guests between its base in Kuala Lumpur and Japan, making it one of the most popular low cost carriers in the country.

AirAsia INSURE travel protection plan is available for one-way and return trips. It incorporates coverage for personal accident, compensation for loss of baggage and personal effects, flight cancellation and delays and 24-hour worldwide emergency medical assistance.

Save Dissent to Save Democracy   THE rising instances of physical violence and threats against political opponents and the inability to accept dissent must raise huge concerns amongst all of us who see democracy as perhaps the really stellar achievement since Independence. AAP’s attack on BJP headquarters and acts of arson committed under the very noses of their elite leadership; the attacks on Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia in Gujarat in the last two days; the recent manhandling of the caretaker of journalist Siddharth Varadarajan’s house by some garden variety thugs; and the violence and threats meted out regularly to their political opponents by political parties is surely deplorable and condemnable.
