Chinese ship reenters Japanese water

Japan's Coast Guard says a Chinese patrol boat reentered Japanese waters near the disputed Senkaku islands west of Okinawa on Thursday evening.Coast Guard officials say that the boat is one of three Chinese fisheries surveillance vessels that briefly entered Japan's territorial waters near the Senkakus on Wednesday. The islands are also claimed by China and Taiwan.

One of the three vessels left the area, but the other two were navigating just beyond the border.
The officials say that one of the two boats reentered Japanese territory off Uotsuri Island at around 6 PM Japan time. Uotsuri is one of the 5 uninhabited islands.

Earlier in the day, the Coast Guard spotted a 4th Chinese patrol boat about 40 kilometers northwest of the Senkaku Islands.The Coast Guard warned the vessel by radio not to enter Japanese territory. It says the Chinese boat answered that it was patrolling inside Chinese waters.Inputs from NHK
