Cruise Arabia represents the Arabian Gulf in its second year at the 2015 Cruise Shipping Miami, USA
Oman, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai were joined by the tourism authorities of Qatar and Sharjah under the Cruise Arabia Alliance this year at the cruise industry’s leading global event
The Oman Ministry of Tourism (Oman Tourism), Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi), Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) and newly joined Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), and Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), came together under the Cruise Arabia Alliance to represent the Arabian Gulf at the Cruise Shipping Miami, the cruise industry’s leading global event running from 16-19 March in Miami, USA.
Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Oman attend their second year as Cruise Arabia with tourism authorities of Qatar and Sharjah for the first time, to promote the Arabian Gulf as the cruise tourism hotspot. Promoting the cruise industry within the Arabian Gulf and internationally is a key mandate of the Cruise Arabia Alliance.
DTCM was joined by nine other public and private sector stakeholders from the industry to represent Dubai at the Cruise Shipping Miami convention; DP world, Emirates Airline, in addition to tour operators DNATA, Sharaf Tours, Alpha Tours, Orient Tours; and shipping agents Gulf Agency Company, Inchcape Shipping Services and Seamaster Maritime.

Save Dissent to Save Democracy   THE rising instances of physical violence and threats against political opponents and the inability to accept dissent must raise huge concerns amongst all of us who see democracy as perhaps the really stellar achievement since Independence. AAP’s attack on BJP headquarters and acts of arson committed under the very noses of their elite leadership; the attacks on Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia in Gujarat in the last two days; the recent manhandling of the caretaker of journalist Siddharth Varadarajan’s house by some garden variety thugs; and the violence and threats meted out regularly to their political opponents by political parties is surely deplorable and condemnable. This is a fatally flawed trend which will destroy the very foundations of our democratic institutions if not pushed back with all the strength and condemnation that the civil society can mobilise. Replaying the past To begin with, it must be clarified that we should ...
