Some key highlights of the event:
  • Chief Guest of the event was Mrs Anar Patel, daughter of Gujarat Chief Minister's. She's an MBA Finance and knew about bitcoins. She came to understand more and support the bitcoin community and help make Ahmedabad the hub of bitcoin innovation in the country.
  • Mr Nishith Desai founder of Nishith Desai Associates, India's leading law firm with customers like Vodafone India, Infosys and Flipkart released a whitepaper on Indian Legal and Tax Considerations on Bitcoins.   • We announced the launch of Bitcoin India Alliance, an alliance of all bitcoin companies in India. The alliance will work to spread bitcoin awareness and adoption in India. It will also be the body to represent Indian bitcoin industry to government and other associations.
  • The event was sponsored and attended by all leading Indian bitcoin companies like iGot, CoinSecure, CoinTelegraph India and Blockstreet.
  • Zebpay announced new features which are a first for any bitcoin company in India. Users of Zebpay app can now buy bitcoins easily from their mobile phone. They can also buy Flipkart vouchers at 10% off. We also announced that we will soon be coming with a list of India's first merchants who will accept bitcoins. This will include a real estate company, a chain of restaurants, coffee shops and more. You will also soon be able to buy mobile airtime.
  • The audience appreciated the event as Zebpay is the first company in India who is taking steps to educate people about bitcoins in an easy to understand format. Zebpay also made efforts to communicate to the people via an authority like Mr Nishith Desai that bitcoins is legal in India just like everywhere else and people can freely buy and sell bitcoins.
