Sinopsis: Esta vista previa de 15 minutos de un documental de larga duración en producción, sigue la lucha de algunas mujeres musulmanas en la India que han tomado a las instituciones sociales, legales y religiosas de su país para defender sus derechos alrededor de la infame práctica utilizada en India: el triple talaq, costumbre de los sunitas musulmanes que permite a cualquier marido terminar el matrimonio diciendo tres veces “talaq”. En la vista previa se plasman las luchas de cada tres mujeres en la vieja Delhi.

Synopsis: This 15 minute preview of an under-production feature length documentary, follows the struggles of a few Muslim women in India who have taken on the social, legal and religious institutions of India to defend their rights surrounding the infamous triple "Talaq" practice in India, a Sunni Muslim custom that allows any husband to end his marriage by saying three times "talaq". The preview outlines the struggles of three women in Old Delhi.

Sinopsis: Mujeres Gestoras es un grupo de campesinas mexicanas que habitan en comunidades rurales de la sierra de Catemaco, al sur del estado de Veracruz (México). Ante la situación de violencia, dependencia e inferioridad que viven, por su condición de género, decidieron unirse para tomar el control de sus vidas y obtener equidad frente a sus maridos, familias y comunidades. Ha sido y es, un camino lento, largo y duro, pero sin marcha atrás. Una revolución dentro de ellas y los que las rodean. Ésta es su historia.

Synopsis: Manager Women is a group of Mexican native rural women living in the mountains of Catemaco, in southern Veracruz (México).Due to the violence, dependence and inferiority they faced due to their gender, they decided to get together to empower themselves and gain equality versus their husbands, families and communities. It has been and remains, a slow, long and hard journey, but without looking back. A revolution within and around them. This is their story.

Urvashi Butalia, directora y co-fundadora de la editorial Kali for Women, Noni Benegas, co-autora de la antología "Ellas tienen la Palabra: dos décadas de poesía española" y Arpita Sinha e Irene Salas, autoras de los documentales anteriormente referidos, hablarán sobre la situación de la mujer en diferentes ámbitos y contextos después de la proyección.
 Urvashi Butalia, director and co-founder of the publishing house Kali for Women, Noni Benegas, co-author of the anthology "They have the Word: two decades of Spanish poetry" and Arpita Sinha and Irene Salas, authors of the previously mentioned documentaries, will discuss on the situation of women in different fields and contexts after the screening.

“Cara a cara. Encuentros con la diversidad” por Martí Casas
“Face to face. Encounters with diversity” by Martí Casas

Sinopsis: Un recorrido por el continente asiático nos acerca a instantes prestados de la cotidianidad de diversas mujeres.  Son rostros que nos evocan a una historia personal, momentos que nos aproximan a sus vidas y contextos que nos remiten a las realidades que enfrentan. Este proyecto crea un diálogo entre niñas, jóvenes y ancianas de lugares tan distantes como Turquía, Uzbekistán, Kirguistán, China, India, Nepal, Myanmar y Camboya.  Al encontrarnos con ellas cara a cara estas mujeres anónimas se convierten en protagonistas hilvanando un mosaico femenino tejido por su condición de mujer.

Biografía: Martí Casas es un fotógrafo catalán que reside en la India desde hace seis años. Cuenta con una larga trayectoria en el campo de la fotografía documental y el reportaje de viaje centrándose en el continente asiático. Formado con un master en Estudios de Asia y Pacífico de la Universidad de Barcelona combina su trabajo de profesor de español con la colaboración en publicaciones especializadas en viajes y la creación de material visual para algunas ONG. Synopsis: A journey through the Asian continent brings us closer to the everyday life moments taken from various women. They are faces that evoke a personal history, moments that bring us closer to their lives and contexts that drop us to the realities they face. This project creates a dialogue between girls and old women from as far away as Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, China, India, Nepal, Myanmar and Cambodia. Our face to face encounter with these anonymous women makes them the protagonists weaving a feminine mosaic sewn by their condition as women.
 
Biography: Martí Casas is a Catalan photographer based in India for the last six years with a long career in the field of documentary photography and travel reports focused on the Asian continent. Qualified with an MA in Asia & Pacific Studies at the University of Barcelona, he combines his job as a Spanish teacher with the collaboration in various travel publications and the creation of visual material for NGOs.
