Durga Vahini played a vital roll in upliftment of women: Meer Agrawal
New Delhi. June 12, 2012. Women are the base of our culture. To make the country strong,  all round development of women is very important for which Durga Vahini, the women wing of VHP, has played a vital roll, said North Delhi Mayor Mrs Meera Agrawal. Addressing the valedictory session of a week long training camp of Durga vahini in north Delhi today, the mayor also said that as I have personally attended such a camp in past, I know what exactly Durga Vahini is doing and how its work is so important to the society particularly in the national capital where crime against women are keep on raising in the past.
Detailing about the program, the state Media chief of VHP shri Vinod Bansal said that the Girls aged 15 to 35 performed Yoga Paranayam, Judo-Karate, and the different mode of self defence in the program organized in the Sanatan Dharm Saraswati Bal Mandir school in west Punjabi Bagh. During the camp, inmates were also awakened on defferent topics of their interest like First aid, Love Zihad, social avils, Teen aged problems & their solutions,, women & Law, ideal Hindu family, female fueticide, Satsang etc, he added.
            Speaking on the occasion, on the need of such camps, the national head Matri Shakti shrimati Mala Rawal said that urga Vahini is aimed to keep girls free from any type of fear they may have in mind. This camp has got more importance due to the growing atrocities against women in the national capital of Delhi, even if the state is headed by a women CM and the nation is also run by a women, she added. The regional (north India) head of Durga Vahini Mrs Malti Sharma & the organizing secretary-VHP-North shri Kailash Chandra also addressed the inmates.
The camp under the guidance of shri Ashok Kumar, the state vice president-VHP was headed by state co-convenor of Durga vahini Mrs Sanjana Chaudhary & Ms. Kushum jointly under the guidance of state head of Marti Shakti Mrs Simmi Ahuja.
