Estonia invites neutral Sweden to take part in NATO military drills in 2017
Estonian Defense Minister Hannes Hanso invited Sweden, a non-NATO member, to engage in joint military exercises in 2017 dubbed “Spring Storm” during a meeting with Peter Hultqvist, his Swedish counterpart, on Saturday, according to the press-service of the Estonian Defense Ministry. “We were not supposed to pay special attention to the security in the region during the meeting, since our positions on this matter are the same. I invited Sweden to take part in the ambitious Spring Storm military drills in 2017 so that our soldiers could gain experience in cooperating with each other,” Hanso said.
