Uttarakhand Cabinet Minister Yashpal Arya joins BJP
Uttarakhand Congress leader and cabinet Minister Yashpal Arya joined BJP in presence of Amit Shah in New Delhi today.
Mr. Arya said he was upset with Chief Minister Harish Rawat’s style of functioning and was feeling ignored in the party. His son Sanjiv Arya and an ex MLA Kedar Signh Rawat, also joined the party today.
On Congress leaders’ joining the BJP, Chief Minister Harish Rawat said they might have some compulsion for leaving the congress party.
He stated the second line of the congress party in the state has formidable standing and it will have no impact on the coming elections. Mr. Rawat further said that Congress will announce its candidates on Wednesday.
Uttarakhand goes to polls on February 15.
US: ‘ China blocking India’s NSG membership
United States has lashed out at China for blocking India from becoming a member of the Nuclear Suppliers Group, NSG.
In an interview with PTI, calling China as an outlier, US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Nisha Desai Biswal has said clearly there is one outlier that needs to be addressed. She said it is because of the Chinese resistance that India could not become a member of NSG.
Biswal said, China is advocating a two-step “non-discriminatory” approach for admission of countries who have not signed nuclear-Non Proliferation Treaty (NPT) in the NSG. She said, Washington has been very clear and unequivocal that India has met the criteria for NSG and should be brought into the NSG. US statement comes a week ahead of the Obama Administration passing on the baton to the Trump Administration.
Turkish cargo plane crashes at Kyrgyzstan
Turkish cargo plane crashes at Kyrgyzstan killing 20 persons Kyrgyz govt said.
Medical staff said that six children were among the victims. Four pilots also died, the health ministry said.Manas airport, Kyrgystan’s main international airport, has been closed.
According to Flightradar24 the plane belonged to ACT MyCargo Airlines, a Turkish cargo airline based in Istanbul. Local media reported that the plane was operated by Turkish Airlines under flight number TK6491
Boeing 747 TC-MCL aircraft flying from Hongkong has crashed as it was landing amid fog at Manas airport, about 25km north of the capital, Bishkek.
At least 15 buildings were destroyed in a village outside the airport, with a number of children among the dead.Flight TK6491 was to have stopped at Manas en route to Istanbul in Turkey.The plane came down shortly after 07:30 local time (01:30 GMT) in the village of Dacha-Suu, a popular holiday home area near the airport.Visibility was poor at the time because of freezing fog, but the cause of the crash has not yet been confirmed.Reports Media agencies

IIT too has opened incubators and a platform to give startup to assist the complete tech in ideation of SartuPs. The CSR funding by the corporate to incubators with certain structure could help startup in big way. Banks and Corporate help to build eco system for startup govt allow to give business to startup eco system for venture capital , raw material of special category to be available to startuP in easy ecosystem, Mentor,seed capital and concession in capital gain ,concession in tax and govt to inject capital in startuPs as in China.
India’s small and medium enterprise (SME) sector already provides jobs of 80 million people; contributes 40% of our total exports; and about 8% of the country’s aggregate GDP. Its role in generating employment, nurturing entrepreneurship, improving India’s participation in regional and global production networks; and in expanding exports, specially defence exports will be crucial in the coming period. Despite the salient nature and role of SMEs sector and the rhetoric that surrounds them, they remain a relatively neglected area for rigorous research and effective policy making.
With this in mind, PIF is organising a seminar “Supporting and Incentivising MSMEs to Perform Better”. The objective of the seminar is to contribute to policy advancement in this important area, by marshalling the available expertise and experience and publishing the proceedings as Policy Briefs.
The seminar will be held on 17th January, Tuesday, at 3.00 p.m. at the Seminar Hall I, India International Centre, Max Mueller Marg, Delhi 110 003.
