German court dismisses Erdogan’s appeal to ban mocking poem
A court in Hamburg on Tuesday rejected Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s appeal to ban outright a satirical poem recited two years ago by a comedian on German television. The case has soured already-strained ties between Berlin and Ankara. However, judges also upheld a ban by a lower court in 2017 on certain passages of the poem, read out by German comedian Jan Boehmermann, and which suggested Erdogan watched child pornography, Reuters said. The higher regional court confirmed the ruling of the district court of Hamburg that parts of the poem could be banned because they contained degradations of an intimate and sexual nature for which there was no evidence. Boehmermann had appealed for the partial ban to be lifted. The court ruled the poem could not be completely banned because of Germany’s free speech laws.
Macron condemns Gaza violence
French President Emmanuel Macron has condemned the violence in Gaza during a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to the Elysee Palace. “He expressed his very deep concern about the situation in Gaza, condemned the violence and underlined the importance of protecting civilian populations and of the right to protest peacefully,” it said in a statement. The call came just one day after 60 Palestinians were killed in protests against the relocation of the US Embassy to Jerusalem, most of whom died from Israeli sniper fire. Children were among the fatalities, including an eight-month-old baby who died after inhaling Israeli tear gas.
Request for Kirkuk amid accusations of election fraud
Iraq’s election commission should hold a manual recount in the northern province of Kirkuk, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said on Tuesday after reports of fraud and defects emerged in relation to a new electronic voting system, according to state media. He added that a nationwide recount would be necessary if the reports coming from Kirkuk were substantiated. Al-Abadi’s Nasr (Victory) Coalition was considered the front-runner, but ended up in third place. Nationalist cleric Moqtada al-Sadr’s Sairoon Coalition achieved an upset victory, in what has been described as a repudiation of both US and Iranian influence in Iraq.
Russian opposition leader Navalny sentenced to 30 days in jail
A Moscow court handed Alexei Navalny a 30-day jail sentence for staging an unauthorized protest on May 5. Organized under the slogan “He is not our Tsar!” the anti-Vladimir Putin protests resulted in hundreds of arrests around the country. Navalny has faced multiple legal cases over embezzlement and fraud, and was barred from running in Russia’s presidential election in March.
Trump-Kim summit in fix
Pyongyang is not interested in any negotiations that envisage only unilateral denuclearization without guarantees North Korea won’t be left totally defenseless like Libya in case of aggression, deputy foreign minister has said.
Criticizing Washington’s demand for unilateral concessions & unconditional “nuclear abandonment,” North Korea’s first vice minister of foreign affairs Kim Kye-gwan recalled the eventual fate of Libya and said such negotiations style is unacceptable for Pyongyang.
“This is not an attempt to solve the problem through dialogue but rather the manifestation …to force the destiny of the collapsed Libya and Iraq to our dignified state,” Kim said, according to KCNA.
North Korea plans to join global efforts to implement a total ban on nuclear weapons tests, Pyongyang’s ambassador told the United Nations disarmament body on Tuesday. North Korea “will join international desires and efforts for a total ban on nuclear tests,”Han Tae-song, ambassador to the UN in Geneva, said in an address to the Conference on Disarmament, AFP reports. North Korea announced earlier that it will dismantle its northeastern Punggye-ri test site between May 23 and 25 in the presence of local and international media.
Varanasi flyover collapse: 4 officials suspended:
Another under construction flyover mishap tale of negligence and short of planning or supervision has taken life of 18 peoples and several others are feared trapped after a portion of an under-construction flyover collapsed near a railway station in Varanasi on Tuesday, four officials — Chief Project Manager HC Tiwari, Project Manager KR Sudan, Assistant Engineer Rajesh Singh & engineer Lal Chand — have been suspended with immediate effect.
An official of the UP State Bridge Corporation said that the body was set to pace up the work in order to complete the flyover by October. The piece of the flyover which fell was laid two months ago and interlocking work was being done, said K R Sudan, an official of UP State Bridge Corporation.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced compensation of Rs 500,000 for kin of those killed in the incident, Rs 200,000 for those who have been injured. CM Adityanath has also set up a three-member committee to probe flyover collapse.
JDS legislative party meeting begins:
Karnataka’s Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala face litmus test, is to take an important decision to make the parliamentary democracy in critical number a historical decision for seamless governance in the state short of horse trading, and No, non confidence motion thereafter. As per the constitutional provision, the single-largest party is invited to form the government in the case of a fractured mandate.
Congress state party leaders have alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party is trying to “poach” their MLAs in an attempt to establish majority to form the government in Karnataka. “They (BJP) are poaching our MLAs, and we know that. Every day, there is a lot of pressure. But it not so easy, as two parties have the necessary numbers. However, we are taking all necessary steps,” said Congress leader D K Shivakumar.
Karnataka hung verdict set the Political turmoil in Congress, JD S and BJP with their effort to be at top slot. Political numbers with parties in recent assembly elections are are: BJP: 104, Cong: 78, JDS: 38, Others: 2. The Congress announced that it would support the JD-S, taking their total seat share to 117, thus resulting in a fractured mandate.
S Yeddyurappa has left for the Raj Bhavan to meet the governor, his second meeting in less than 12 hours. The BJP legislators meeting is over. BJP’s Sadananda Gowda, said they were the single largest party and should form government. “You have seen how Congress & JD(S) were fighting, six months back. Now, they want to come together & make government!” he said. Union Minister for Oil and Petroleum Dharmendra Pradhan and Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare JP Nadda will attend a party meeting in Karnataka on Wednesday as Bharatiya Janata Party’s observers.
JD(S) legislative party meeting begins in Bengaluru. The party’s CM candidate HD Kumaraswamy said his party has already decided to go with the Congress. “That’s the reason we called the Janata Dal (Secular) Legislature Party meeting. There is no question of taking any other decision.”
However reports say that three Congress MLAs are missing and the JDS has confirmed that the BJP has reached out to its MPs.
The numbers are: BJP: 104, Cong: 78, JDS: 38, Others: 2
The Congress says the two independent MLAs are with them, which makes their numbers stand at 118. But with the three Congress MLAs missing, presumably poached by the BJP, that’s down to 115. The BJP just needs three more MLAs over to their side to form government.

Weak Anti-Horse Trading Law SC Orders
May16, 2018 (C) Ravinder Singh ravinderinvent@gmail.com
Horse Trading going on in a state is being WATCHED by the worldwho have missions in India. Election Commission of India has published the results of the latest elections in Karnataka. Long before final results were declared based on trends it was obvious who shall form stable government.
But minutes after winning elections and getting a Certificate from Election Commission, MLAs have to give Signed Letters of Support to the Governor and to be Paraded in Raj Bhawan and then Vote for Government in Vidhan Sabha – before the Chief Minister is Confirmed in office.
Horse Trading happens when a ‘Winning Candidate Party A Supported by entire Cadre of Party A including Financial Support’ just stepping in to Raj Bhawan Switches Loyalty to Party B. This is Totally Unethical & Fraud.

Way back in early 2009 I studied constitution of all registered political parties and found them to be similar to each other in terms of Joining and Expulsion a political party through application procedure, selection of the Executive and Its Powers – District, State & Central levels.
Through RTI I wanted these to be ‘Tabulated By The Election Commission as Ready Reckoner’ than uploading 50-60 page Constitutions of Parties with minor differences.
In world’s biggest democracy – people have no idea about the Constitution of The Political Parties, their CORE IDEOLOGY – each have IDENTICAL OBJECTIVES.
Similarly wanted ‘LIMIT ON TENURE OF POLITICAL OFFICE’ – Some enjoying Office for 10 Terms or 50 Years and Ex Cabinet Ministers returning as MPs or MLAs.
In early 2014 wanted to Train 6000 Candidates for Lok Sabha elections through Sabka Bharat Party academy.
I wanted Ministers to be Grilled By Parliament Like ‘Confirmation Procedure in US’.

Peoples’ Convention on Infrastructure Financing
Peoples’ Convention on Infrastructure Financing
A Peoples’ response to AIIB Annual Meeting
June 21-23, 2018 | Mumbai, India
INVITATION
The 3rd Annual Governors Meeting of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank [AIIB] will be held in Mumbai, India from 25-26 June 2018. This two-year-old multilateral bank is investing in all major sectors, including energy, without robust policies on environmental-social safeguards, transparent public disclosure and an accountability/complaint handling mechanism. Out of the total 24 projects, it has financed, USD 4.4 billion has already been approved. India is the biggest recipient from AIIB with more than 1.2 billion USD supporting about six projects including Transmission lines, Capital City Development at Amravati, rural roads etc with another 1 billion USD in proposed projects.
These data are but a few from among the many that come out periodically which, we are aware, will straightaway affect our democratic systems, land, water, forests, food, livelihoods, structures and the very air we breathe on a daily basis. All these raise our concerns to an alarming level that we are forced to reflect and act on the rapid ‘reforms’ which happen in the guise of development. Unlike World Bank and ADB who claim their development agenda in the name of reduction in poverty and inequality, AIIB never conceals their huge interests in infrastructure financing.
India is AIIB’s second-largest shareholder and is an adored destination for its investments. As many of us are aware, the Indian government, for past few decades, has stressed the need for large infrastructural projects for the country’s development and these projects are being seen as a stimulus to the growth of India’s GDP. These include power projects, dams, roads, urban projects, industrial zones/corridors, ports, smart cities and other mega projects, including the new super-expensive high-speed rail projects. Mega energy projects are perceived as one of the major components and enablers of these infrastructure projects. This aggressive growth for the economic elite and the upper classes will come at the cost of displacing the lives of people who are dependent on land and natural resources for their livelihood and devastating the environment. This also often comes at the cost of displacing farming and pastoralist communities who are pushed to a life of poverty and whose life and livelihood cannot be commensurably compensated by money – in most cases, not even that. The huge projected increases in the energy infrastructure will also demand similarly massive financial investments.
It is critical that we situate the 3rd AIIB AGM within this global, regional and national context. The idea behind the People’s Convention on Infrastructure Financing is to provide a space for social movements, progressive trade unions, academia and civil society from various parts of the country working on urban development, transportation, environmental protection, coastal communities, sustainable energy and equity, against privatisation along with groups monitoring financial institutions and their policies and projects in the country. The Convention will facilitate solidarity in the resistance against the infrastructural approach towards development causing displacement and destruction to the natural resources. It will also be a space to put forward and discuss alternatives for a just and equitable world that are emerging out of people’s struggles.
Peoples Convention on Infrastructure Financing – A peoples response to AIIBwill be held in Mumbai, India from 21-23 June 2018. It will also organize a series of regional meetings in different parts of the country in the month of April and May to bring together civil society organizations for familiarising and updating on AIIB functions, investment policies, and initiating monitoring on AIIB projects in India, with a focused aim to strategize, campaign and demand transparency and accountability in their lending in India. It is an opportune moment to try and tackle the bank, and demand accountability in their financing in Indian projects, when this year India is hosting AIIB’s 3rd Annual Governors Meet [AGM]. Groups from Mumbai, along with other Indian organisations will jointly host the event which will include plenary, self-organised workshops, passing of resolutions, cultural events and press conference.
Please do block your dates and plan to join in this important event. Your contribution will be keenly looked forward to. We are not in a position to pay for your travel expenses though we have some solidarity accommodation arranged. We will try and raise some resources for travel by appealing to organisations to subsidise travel of activists from social movement and hinterland. Please plan to reach in morning of June 21st or 20th night and leave by 23rd June evening.
VENUE: Plenary at Y.B Chavan Hall and workshops at YWCA and YMCA.
We look forward to being with you in Mumbai on June 21-23, 2018!
With warm regards,
Peoples Convention on Infrastructure Financing – A peoples response to AIIB
Hillary: Naresh — Last week, I traveled
Naresh –Last week, I traveled a little far from home, visiting with friends and supporters in Australia and New Zealand. I was thrilled to be there, not only because both countries are incredibly beautiful, but because both have elected women to their highest offices, including current Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern. It was wonderful to hear women across both countries talk about how having a female prime minister not only influenced policy, but made them more likely to be engaged in politics. As the old saying goes, you can’t be what you can’t see.Our friends at Latino Victory know this, too; they’ve been working for years now to elect Latino candidates across the country and make sure that young Latino people can see themselves reflected in our government. I’m proud to be their partner through Onward Together, and I hope you’ll learn a little bit more about them today.Onward!HillaryOnward Together works to build a brighter future for generations to come by supporting groups that encourage people to organize in their communities or run for office. Because you’re an important part of Onward Together, we wanted you to get a chance to know these groups a little bit better. To learn more about Onward Together, click here.

Congress approached JDS to a coalition government in Karnataka
Media Reports say the Congress has approached JDS to a coalition government together an alliance if the BJP fails to reach the halfway mark. The JDS has accepted the Congress party’s offer that HD Kumaraswamy be the CM candidate, say reports.
Media Reports further say that Sonia Gandhi and Ghulam Nabi Azad have spoken to JDS chief Deve Gowda. Even before the leads suggested a Congress rout, senior leader Mallikarjuna Kharge suggested this morning, that the party was open to an alliance with the JDS.
The JDS has been non-committal about the BJP as well as Congress. Siddaramaiah’s willingness to step down from the CM’s post could be a decider for Deve Gowda to extend his support to the Congress. The JDS has said it is the Congress’s “responsibility” to reach out if it did not get majority.
The leads so far: BJP: 106, Cong: 73, JDS: 41, Others: 2
President Donald Trump`s Conservative Stance on Immigration Will Fire Back?
Not sagar media inc view; Writers view.
America is a land of opportunities and a powerful nation which is well recognized globally. Since 19th-century people from different parts of the world migrated to the United States of America in search of better economic opportunities.
The Act to encourage Immigration signed July 4th, 1864 by President Lincoln to encourage immigration was the first and only major law in American history. Under this Act, people from all of the world were welcome to facilitate infrastructure development in the USA. President Lincoln, in his Annual Message to Congress on December 8, 1863, called for government assistance. “I again submit to your consideration the expediency of establishing a system for the encouragement of immigration. All though this source of national wealth and strength is again flowing with greater freedom than for several years before the insurrection occurred, there is still a great deficiency of laborers in every field of industry, especially in agriculture, and in our mines, as well as of iron and coal as of the precious metals. Even after so many decades, America has been facing the shortage of manpower to work in various industries”. Keeping shortage of manpower, Barack Obama also pursued his predecessor’s policies with minor changes in the existing immigration laws to facilitate the growth of the USA economy hence always welcomed the immigrants.
President Trump signed the executive order in March 2017 which placed temporary travel restrictions on the resident of six Muslim countries. He also signed an executive order on stricter enforcement and review of the H1B visa- popular in the technology industry to bring “highly skilled” foreign workers into the US. President Donald Trump after becoming president of America has created constant pressure to stop unwanted guests to the territory of the USA. Every nation has legal and moral right to decide who should or who should not be welcomed. But Donald Trump and his administration have completely ignored the contributions of the migrants to the economy of the country.
Currently, immigrant USA workforce in a range of industries, accounting for over 41 percent of all farming, fishing, and forestry workers as well as nearly 25 percent of those working in computer and math sciences. The contribution of the migrants to the USA economy is huge. Hence, we can conclude safely that migrants are assets not a liability for the USA. In a globalized and a competitive world every nation has to call for the best brains to facilitate the ongoing development process. For example, China town in the USA is mostly run and maintained by Chinese businessmen and small and medium scale entrepreneurs. President Donald Trump and his administration`s recent antidumping duties slapped on China failed to curtail China`s trade. Wong and Li argued that in the USA skilled and locally born Indians are regarded as model minorities similarly Chinese in the diaspora have typically transplanted to their receiving lands five basic relationships: patrilineal kinship and ties of territory, religion, business and various types of production. Both the communities are well integrated into the system of the USA. Unskilled and skilled workers are required to run the country. Both categories of workers are essential to run and sustain the economy.
The current threat to the workforce of the USA is rapidly ageing population of the USA. According to the USA ageing population statistic, the number of older people is projected to increase by 135 percent. The ageing population will place substantial economic burden on the public programme. The slow growth in the working age population will mean that there will be relatively fewer people to pay the taxes necessary to support public programmes for the older population and fewer people to provide the services that older people need. In this situation, closing USA doors for the migrants for a long period would multiply the political problems for President Donald Trump and his administration. President Trump needs to annihilate racial discrimination which the members of the migrant communities happen to bear in everyday life. Trump needs to formulate inclusive policies so that including migrants contribute to the growth of the USA in all spheres.
