The ‘Citizens of the World’ program encourages primary education among the under privileged within 10 kilometre radius of Teleperformance offices in Gurgaon, Jaipur and Indore.
In Indore, Teleperformance India has partnered with Vijaylaxmi Somani-run NGO, Participative Development Initiative (PDI), to spread primary education in children from lesser privileged strata. Teleperformers work closely with Future Foundation School in Sunderbagh to support education of nearly 600 students.
In Jaipur, Teleperformance has partnered with Sakhi Bal Niketan and Amar Sewa Samiti (Chattar Pathshala), a Jaipur based NGO run by Sunita Yadav, who has strived to bring a change by offering primary education to under privileged since the tender age of 14.
In its effort to give back to the community, Teleperformers in India offer learning opportunities and school education for the underprivileged children in rural and semi-urban areas of Gurgaon in partnership with Literacy India led by a serving Air India pilot Captain Indrani Singh.
Teleperformance has helped the NGOs build a well-equipped computer lab and library of books for children.
Across Gurgaon, Indore and Jaipur Teleperformance touches lives of over 1,200 underprivileged children so far.
Teleperformers also volunteer time to build a more personalized connect and create an aspirational value in the children they support by spending quality time with them.
Starting its Indore operations in 2007 and Jaipur centres in 2009, the BPO firms now has over 2,000 employees in the two non-metro cities who serve a host of Indian and international customers.
The program encourages Teleperformers to become ambassadors of change as they engage with underprivileged children and participate in their education and learning process.
Teleperformance employees offer food, books, education and clothing to these children. The larger goal is to help these children meet their basic needs and reach their individual potential.
With the belief that an individual’s engagement with the community goes beyond giving money, Teleperformers invest time in activities that motivate these children, build their confidence, provide essential utilities, and invite them to experience a typical day at work etc.
Teleperformers organize events around festivals like Diwali, Holi, Christmas, Makar Sankranti, Independence Day, Republic Day, Janamashtmi, Ganesh Chaturthi etc. for these students across locations.
The ‘Citizens of the World’ ambassadors assume ‘Citizen’s Social Responsibility’ by upholding a strong value system--from being law abiding citizens to caring for the environment. Teleperformance India takes its business of creating value in the surrounding quite earnestly. Teleperformance India believes that ‘Citizen’s Social Responsibility’ is about tradition and culture, about imbibing responsible corporate citizenship. The same values are imbibed by the Teleperformers through ‘Citizens of the World’ initiative.
Citizen’s Social Responsibility also helps Teleperformers become sensitive to the challenges in the society and their obligation to help and support the less fortunate. Teleperformance India contributes to salaries of teachers, uniforms and other engagement activities. The goal is to inspire and motivate these students to build self-esteem and to fire personal aspirations.
Besides giving children an opportunity to study, ‘Citizens of the World’ program helps their families benefit and experience significant change in their lifestyle.
Under the Teleperformance Shiksha Protsahan program, Teleperformers support the education of children of employees engaged in housekeeping, pantry and security at its offices.
