New Delhi, 3rd Aug 2012: BJP Gen. Sec., Chief Spokesman & MP Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad was felicitated by Delhi Study Group President, BJP Vice President & Delhi Spokesman Vijay Jolly on his appointment as New Deputy Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha. A bouquet of red, pink & yellow roses were presented along with a memento by Delhi Study Group leaders.  

A Chat-Pakori light snacks refreshment party was organized by Mr. Jolly and his team at 21, Mother Teresa Crescent Road, New Delhi, the residence of Mr. Prasad. Mr. Dinesh Kumar a Kisan from Meethapur village presided as the Chairman Reception Committee. The program was compared by Vice President Mr. Bhupendra Kansil.

Mr. Jolly while addressing the large assembled invitees recalled his long association with Ravi Shankar Prasad since the Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJP Youth Wing) days. The success story of Ravi Shankar Prasad as a lawyer in the famous Ram Janambhoomi court case was lauded. Mr. Prasad is a third time BJP member in the upper house of Indian parliament. He has excelled as a senior member of the Indian bar, has played a pivotal role in the court of law and performed as a eloquent speaker in the parliament to floor the Congress Govt. stated Mr. Jolly. This was loudly cheered by the assembled distinguished gathering.

The program was attended by BJP National Gen. Sec. Vijay Goel, Delhi BJP Chief Vijendra Gupta, Ex. Chief Mange Ram Garg, National Secretaries Ms. Arti Mehra & Vani Tripathi, National Spokesman Syed Shahnawaz Hussain & Parakash Jawdekar. BJP Senior Leader L.K. Advani’s wife Smt. Kamla Advani & daughter Pratibha Advani specially attended. Delhi MLAs namely Naresh Gaur, Dr. Jagdish Mukhi, Dr. SCL Gupta, Subhash Sachdeva, Dharm Deo Solanki, Sunil Vaid, Kulwant Rana along with diplomats from US, Russia, Canada, Australia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, China, Romania & European Union attended in large numbers. The MCD standing committee Chairman Rajesh Gehlot, Ex. Mayor Rajni Abbi & Prithviraj Sahani, Ex. Dy. Mayor Anil Sharma, Ex. Leader of the House Subhash Arya, BJP Media Convenor Shreekant Sharma & IT Cell Chief Arvind Gupta also attended.
