Vietnam start suppressing anti-China protests. The Vietnamese government apparently wants to avoid a further escalation of its territorial dispute with China.Police in the capital Hanoi dispersed about 50 people who had gathered in a square on Sunday. They also detained about 20 who have been organizing the protests since July.

Demonstrations are strictly limited in Vietnam under Communist Party rule. But the authorities had given their tacit approval for anti-China rallies, with police controlling traffic when protesters took to the streets.The two nations are increasingly at odds over the Spratly and Paracel Islands in the South China Sea.

Vietnam passed a maritime law in June that declared sovereignty over the islands.China, on the other hand, has upgraded the status of the islands to a city. A Chinese state-run oil company has announced a plan to explore natural resources in disputed areas.

Duterte proposes another UN August 21, 2016 Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte railed against the United Nations today after it called for an end to the wave of killings unleashed by his war on drugs, saying he might leave the organisation. Duterte also said the Philippines will invite China and African nations to form another global organisation in place of United Nations, as world body is not doing enough to address hunger and terrorism. There appears to be human rights working for terrorist and mafia in third world to keep their states in dire state.
