Manorama Online teams up with Adobe

New Delhi, India — 23rd May, 2013: Leading Indian media house Malayala Manorama, which has diverse interests in the print, visual and online media has entered into an agreement with Adobe Systems under a multi-million dollar deal. The agreement with Adobe is expected to drive digital-transformation initiatives at Manorama, which is pursuing a comprehensive digital strategy. Manorama Online has been in the online media business for more than 15 years, and this deal would support its preparation for challenges posed by the digital world with constantly developing apps and multitude of devices.

Manorama Online will implement a complete end to end Adobe technology solution that will allow fast and flexible delivery of content across any platform, including mobile and social networks. It will be used to create and author all content, and will feature a next generation dashboard of real time analytics data, which would visually display measured key metrics and enable enhanced audience engagement.

The deal will see Manorama Online replacing its current system to take it to the next level. It will leverage Adobe Marketing Cloud especially the Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe Analytics solutions, along with consulting services to attain its vision of being a leading digital player in the media and publishing domain. The publishing house will also take extensive advantage of the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite to make its content available on a wide range of devices and platforms.

Manorama Online's Chief Operating Officer, Mariam Mammen Mathew, who was instrumental in driving this transformation said, “By uniquely fusing Content Management with best of breed analytics for site traffic, social media engagement and dynamic segmentation, Adobe solutions will give the desired results.”

"Manorama Online has a multi-faceted growth plan to enrich the experiences of its customers across the globe and to cater to them through multiple devices as well as social media channels. Real time analytics on customer preferences is critical for web content. Adobe's rich history in the Media & Publishing industry and capabilities brought forth by the Adobe Experience Manager and other tools are to give us the competitive edge we need on the Web. We expect that these solutions coupled with Adobe's consulting services would play a critical role in the digital transformation of Manorama Online" said Mariam Mammen Mathew.

Commenting on the strategic deal, Umang Bedi, Managing Director South Asia, Adobe said, “We are very excited and proud of this transformational engagement with Malayala Manorama, a brand with a rich legacy of 125 years. Adobe's digital marketing solutions herald a new era for Manorama Online ensuring that it is ready for this next stage in its evolution and will remain leaders in a multi-screen, digital world.”

Three of the major highlights of this strategic engagement are:

1.       Open and cross-platform: Adobe's next-generation content management platform with open core will help Manorama Online integrate different news sources and deliver it seamlessly across mobile, web and social platforms.
2.       Efficiency in the newsroom: Adobe has integrated its Creative Suite with Adobe Marketing Cloud to enable content reuse from print to web and mobile.
3.       Scalability: Being one of the most-visited news sites in India, Manorama Online has adopted a solution which has a small footprint but scalable enough to handle spikes in traffic during key events.
