FY2013 (4th Advance estimates) food grain production at about 255 million tonnes 
India has produced 255.36 million tonnes of food grains during 2012-13 as compared to 259.29 million tonnes during 2011-12. The total production of rice in the country is estimated at 104.40 million tonnes during 2012-13 as against 105.31 million tonnes during 2011-12.  Production of wheat is estimated at 92.46 million tonnes during 2012-13 as compared with 94.88 million tonnes during the corresponding period of previous year. The production of pulses is estimated at 18.45 million tonnes during 2012-13 as against 17.09 million tonnes in 2011-12 and cotton production at 34 million bales in 2012-13 as against 35.2 million bales in 2011-12. The production of sugarcane estimated at 338.96 million tonnes in 2012-13 as compared to 361.03 million tonnes in 2011-12.
