About 2000 works including promos through Animation, Posters, Campaigns, Layouts, Window Display, Packaging Design, Photography, Sculptures in bronze/fiber glass/cement/stone/marble and Ceramics are on display at the ongoing Annual Art Exhibition of the College of Art, Govt of NCT Delhi.
The 59th Annual Art Exhibition at the college premises on Tilak Marg, also features Assemblage, Prints in Etching, Lithography, Silk-Screen, Mosaic and Weaving apart from a separate section carrying Paintings, Drawings and Photography made by students of IIIrd year Specialization classes on their respective Study Tours.
Inaugurated by Delhi Lt Governor, a major highlight of the week-long event is the display of work done by the invited senior students of Fine Art from 14 premier Art Colleges across the country who attended ‘Samhita’, the Seminar-cum-Workshop hosted by the College in September, 2011, according to College Principal Prof M Vijayamohan.
In their creative works, the young minds have touched all aspects of life from land acquisition to Anna Movement, Baba Ramdev to Lalu Yadav, railway safety to busy life to spirituality, smoking, global warming, sexual harassment, women trafficking and even fashion.
This event facilitates the formation of a platform for students to expose their talent to the external professional field and create avenues of opportunities for them to establish lasting foot-holds for future security and financial gain. Also, it is an important and a much awaited event for their interaction with Art Connoisseurs, Curators, Art Galleries, Artists, and students of other institutions, he said.
