Such series shall be inaugurated by well renowned economic thinker and financial adviser of the Country Mr. S.Gurumurthy when he will delivery a key note talk on 1st September at such National Round Table Conference at New Delhi which shall also be attended by several other banking and financial experts, chartered accountants, economy analyst beside leaders of different organisations attached to the Action Committee. Beside Delhi, such conferences are scheduled to be held at Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmadabad, Chennai, Hyderabad,Bangalore, Cochin, Nagpur, Bhopal and Kanpur.
Mr. Khandelwal further informed that Action Committee include the Confederation of All India Traders, All India Motor Transport Congress, All India Confederation of Goods Vehicles Owners Association, All India Transport Welfare Association, Federation of Indian Small & Micro Enterprises, National Hawkers Federation, Bhartiya Kisan Morcha, Laghu Udhyog Bharti, Institute for Enterprise Research & Development, Fruits & Vegetables Commission Agents Wholesale Traders Association and many other leading national and state level organizations of different sectors of non corporate sector and have launched a national support campaign.
Mr. Bhim Wadhwa and Mr. Chitranjan Das, Conveners of the Action Committee informed that beside holding such Round Table Conferences, the Action Committee shall also hold  30 ” Aarthik Adalat” in different states of the Country in next two months where people belonging to different groups of non corporate sector will narrate their problems and difficulties in obtaining requisite finance from banks and baking institutions.
Mr. Pradeep Singhal and Mr. Ramesh Khanna, other Conveners of the Action Committee informed that inputs received from series of 10 Round Table Conference and 30 Aarthik Adalat will be summarized and a exhaustive White Paper shall be prepared which will be submitted to Prime Minister, Finance Minister, Commerce Minister, MSME Minister, Chief Ministers and Finance Ministers of different states and RBI Governor . Copies of the White Paper shall also be submitted to senior leaders of different political parties and MPs of both houses of Parliament.
The non corporate sector is providing employment to nearly 49 crore people in the Country which is 90% of total employment in India and is also contributing 45% to National GDP which is three times higher than corporate sector. Astonishingly only about 4% people in non corporate sector are getting finance from banks and other banking institutions which is very low. Taking cognisance of such a dismal picture of availability of finance to non corporate sector, the Action Committee has launched a national campaign with a demand of creation of a separate and viable financial architecture for non corporate small business in India.

New Afghan president to take office September 2: Karzai

Afghan President Hamid Karzai said Saturday his successor would take office on September 2, despite a slow-moving vote audit designed to eliminate fraudulent ballots cast for the two contenders.
“The Afghan government is totally ready for the inauguration ceremony of the new president on the date of September 2,” the presidential palace said in a statement.
The date would not change, according to the statement, which was issued following talks between Karzai and the head of the UN mission in Afghanistan Jan Kubis.
The new president was due to be inaugurated on August 2, in Afghanistan´s first democratic transfer of power, but the government has been paralysed for months after the first round of the presidential election failed to produce a clear winner and the second round of voting in June triggered allegations of massive fraud.
As fears grew of a return to civil war, the United States last month brokered an emergency deal designed to end the impasse between poll rivals Ashraf Ghani, a former World Bank economist, and former anti-Taliban fighter Abdullah Abdullah.
But neither candidate appears willing to back down, and the dispute looks set to break out again in the coming days when early results emerge from an anti-fraud audit of all eight million votes.
The audit has checked more than 60 percent of votes, and the next stage of invalidating fraudulent ballots will likely raise tensions between the candidates — who are also meant to be in talks about a post-election unity government.
The United States had been pushing for the next president to be inaugurated before a NATO summit starting on September 4, which should sign off on follow-up support after the transatlantic alliance´s combat mission in Afghanistan ends this year.
The political crisis would worsen sharply if either candidate pulls out of the audit or rejects its outcome, with possible angry street protests in Kabul by aggrieved supporters set to pose a major challenge to the national security forces.
The election deadlock has revived ethnic divisions that lay behind the 1990s civil war in Afghanistan.
Many of Ghani´s supporters are Pashtuns in the south and east, while Abdullah´s loyalists are Tajiks and other northern groups.
Uncertainty has also shaken the fragile economy, which is dependent on falling aid funding as the 13-year international effort to develop Afghanistan winds down. Media agencies

RBI says 36% of total bad loans from six key sectors

24082014

The Reserve Bank has said about 36 per cent of the overall 4.1 per cent bad assets in system have been created by six sectors of the economy – infrastructure, metals, textiles, chemicals, engineering and mining which have only 30 per cent of the credit share. The central bank, in its annual report for FY2013-14, said the gross non-performing assets ratio for the non-priority sector grew to 4 per cent as of March 2014 as against 3 per cent in the year ago period, while the same for priority sector stood stable at 4.4 per cent. It also said the contribution of mandatory priority sector loans to the overall bad assets have come down during the last fiscal.
The RBI said that the non-priority sector has contributed more in the deterioration of the loan asset quality of the banking sector in recent years. It further added that the contribution of Priority Sector Lending (PSL) loans to the overall bad loans narrowed to 36 per cent as of FY’14 from 40 per cent in FY’13. Commenting on the health of the sector, the RBI said it remains satisfactory.

Hamas executes four Israeli spies in Gaza

Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, killed four more Palestinians suspected of spying for Israel. Masked Hamas militants shot the Palestinians in the courtyard of a mosque in the Jabaliya refugee camp. Hamas-affiliated Al-Majd website quoted security sources as saying that the four were executed after legal measures were completed. The Islamist faction declined to release the names or pictures of the executed for the sake of social stability, fearing backlash against their families. The total number of Palestinian suspects killed has risen to 25; 18 of whom were executed on Friday and three on Thursday.
Earlier, the Palestinian Authority, which controls the West Bank, denounced the executions of alleged collaborators, calling them extra-judicial. Amnesty International called on Hamas to halt the campaign of summary executions of suspected collaborators.

Vinod Rai: UPA pressured me to drop names from CWG, coal reports:

24082014

Former Comptroller and Auditor General Vinod Rai has put Congress in an embarassing situation with his revelations that the UPA government had pressurized him to drop names of some persons in reports on Commonwealth Games and Coal scams. Rai in his upcoming book has also accused former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of running away from his responsibilities. In a newspaper article about the book, Rai has been quoted as saying that politicians came to his house and told him not to name some people and protect others in connection with the CWG and coal allocation reports.
Reacting to Rai revelations, Congress leader Manish Tewari questioned the timing of such disclosures saying Rai should have spoken while in office. Speaking to reporters in New Delhi today, Tewari said the allegations are an attempt by Rai to sell his book.
BJP Secretary Shrikant Sharma said Rai’s allegations are another chapter of Congress’ corrupt history. Talking to AIR, he said rather than criticizing the former Comptroller and Auditor General, Congress should tell whose names it wanted to be deleted from CAG reports.
CPI leader Atul Anjan dubbed Vinod Rai’s revelations as serious and astonishing. Speaking to AIR, he demanded that the government seek details from Rai and initiate legal action against those who pressured him.

Pak logjam: Talks fail to yield results

24082014
Third round of talks fail to yield results to end Pak logjam
The political crisis in Pakistan escalated on Saturday night with the third round of talks between government negotiators and Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) failing to break the logjam.
Giving a fresh ultimatum, the PTI demanded that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif step down for 30 days for an independent probe into the alleged rigging in last year’s polls but this was outright rejected.
PTI’s chief negotiator Shah Mehmood Qureshi told reporters after the meeting that if proved innocent Sharif can return to power.
Government representative Ahsan Iqbal said the demand for resignation of the Prime Minister was not acceptable.
Thousands of supporters of PTI chief Khan and firebrand cleric Qadri continued to camp outside the Parliament building in Islamabad as their protests entered the 10th day on Saturday.
Pakistani media said government has suspended mobilephone services in the Red Zone in and around the National Assembly citing security reasons.
There are also reports of fresh efforts to block arterial roads leading to the protest site to prevent supporters of Khan and Qadri reaching there.
Striking a defiant note, Khan told his supporters it was out of question to leave the capital without forcing Sharif to quit.
“If it is proved after 30 days that everything was ok, you can return as the PM. But you are not willing to take us up on the offer. That is because you are afraid that you will be found out,” Khan was quoted as saying by Express Tribune.
Using the cricketing terminology, he promised to contest till the “last ball”.
His comments came after former President Asif Ali Zardari met Nawaz Sharif at the premier’s residence in Lahore to discuss the political crisis and pledged to “protect democracy.”
Briefing journalists after the meeting, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said Zardari had assured his full support to Sharif in resolving the crisis within the limits of the constitution and law.

SC made no observations against Speaker

24082014
Speaker defends decision on LoP, says SC made no observations against her
A day after the Supreme Court decided to interpret the provision of Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said on Saturday her denying LoP’s post to Congress was based on rules and tradition and that the apex court had made no observation against her.
“The Supreme Court has questioned the Centre on the issue of Lokpal’s appointment in the absence of LoP and the Attorney General will inform the court about the government’s stand.
It has made no observation against the Speaker,” She told journalists. She defended her decision of not according LoP’s status to the leader of the Congress party in the House for want of numbers.
“I have taken the decision afters studying the rules and traditions and after taking experts opinion on the issue. No opposition party has more than 55. Till date the rule that a party should have a minimum of 10 per cent seats in the House (for being accorded the status of LoP) has not changed,” she said.
In any case, Mahajan said, the Opposition exists in the Lok Sabha and is doing its work properly except for the fact that there is no Leader of Opposition.
The Speaker also said in 1980 and 1984 there was no Leader of Opposition in the House because no party had the required strength.
In a significant development, the Supreme Court had yesterday decided to go into the issue of interpreting the provision of LoP in Lok Sabha in the matter of selection of statutory bodies when there is no recognised LoP.
Asking the government to make its stand clear within two weeks, a bench headed by Chief Justice R M Lodha had emphasised the importance of the post saying Leader of Opposition conveys the voice of representation different from government in the House.
The government had to put on hold the appointment of a new chief of Central Information Commission yesterday due to the absence of LoP in the selection committee, leaving the transparency watchdog headless for the first time since its inception in 2005.

Bogus SIWI Water Prizes, Dullards AB Pandya CWC, Mihir Shah

Bogus SIWI Water Prizes, Dullards AB Pandya CWC, Mihir Shah
August22, 2014 (C) Ravinder Singh ravinderinvent@gmail.com
Even after Unprecedented Floods in Uttarakhand and Severe Drought in
less than a year and widespread poverty in countryside for centuries
it is business as usual for Corrupt and Dullards in Planning and
Developing Water related projects and services. Worse is that SIWI is
awarding Dubious Water Activists who are SABOTAGING water sector
development and factually DAMAGING LAND & HILL SLOPE in the name of
Rain Water Harvesting getting – SIWI Water equivalent to Nobel Prizes.
It is Horrible to hear Mahir Shah who was Planning Commission member
from 2009-2014 responsible for Water and Rural Development when the
Worst Uttarakhand disaster happened advocating Water Charges for
Irrigation & Power to poorest Indians who don’t earn even $200 per
capita entirely dependent on Rains for growing meager crops and for
Introducing Laws to Restrict Ground Water use means even the ones who
have installed tube-wells at huge cost to Survive and Produce more
than 75% of Food For India would not be able to do so.
AB Pandya CWC and Mahir Shah didn’t tell us that 70% of Indian Rivers
Usable water is lost to sea every year – over 800 BCM that could
irrigate all the Crops and minimize Ground Water use, Canals waste 30%
to 80% water. It is not the Problem of Poor Farmers but DULLARDS in
CWC and Planning Commission.
This WIPO awarded Inventor & Engineer with over 40 years experience
also farming expert have researched everything related to WATER – Dam
Storages, Canal Water Distribution, Water Treaties, Irrigation
Technologies, Crops Management, Water Supply, Taps, Flushing
Technologies, Sewage+ finds Expect Promoting non Engineers or Dubious
Incompetent Dullards Nothing really Is Being Done to Address all
these.
It cost nothing to me when walking past up & down Rain Water
Harvesting storage with a wooden stick I noted just 600 liters of
water was Harvested in 30 minutes – or 20 liters per minute, my
Tube-well Yield 25LPS – Clearly there was no Harvesting and it was
basically a Mosquito Breeding pit built roadside at high cost. For
Years SIWI Water Prize Winners were advocating such Lame Duck RWH all
over India – including fragile Himalayas, in Rajasthan they block or
plug Minor Rivers Completely. Actually were making Trillions of Cuts
in Himalayas that brought down Uttarakhand [Picture in pdf] and
Sabotaged 200,000 MW of Multipurpose Hydro Power Projects.
Hoover Dam vs Yamuna Dams vs SSP Dam vs Rajasthan Canal
What is common between these three Dams and Canal is that all four are
to Regulate 10 maf of Water for down stream uses. Hoover Dam was built
in 1934 and SSP in 1994, Yamuna Dams are never built – Hoover is
operational for 80 years, SSP Irrigation Network which is Four Times
over Designed started in 1979 is not yet ready may take 10 more years
and not even 6% of Planned Irrigation Command is operational.
Rajasthan Canal was drawing all the water since 1960 not yet fully
operational.
Hoover Dam command produces $2000b GDP, Dams Not Built, SSP Dam Canals
Partially Operational $25b GDP, Rajasthan Canal $5b.
Since 1980 I have regularly Petitioned to GOI to build Storage Dams on
Yamuna [Renuka, Lakhwar & Vayasi] – Upper Yamuna Basin Water Agreement
or Treaty to use Yamuna Water concluded in 1954 and these Medium Size
dams could have been in service for 60 years – as Prime Minister
reference not a Brick Has been laid – Corrupt & Incompetent CWC may
take 5-10 more years to build.
Most of the Water for National Capital is sourced from Sewage and
Drainage of Haryana & UP upstream of Delhi than Clean Blue Waters.
India has over 250 BCM of Dam Storages over 151 BCM in Large Dams that
discharge Clean Blue waters all over India – yet less than 1% of
Households use Canal waters for home use as per Census 2011
(Sanitation, Bathing, Cooking, Washing) instead draw ground water or
pond waters which are contaminated and polluted.
But Worst of the SIWI awards is for SULABH – Open Bottom Septic Tank Toilets.
Just 12% Households in India has Sewer System that too is not fully
functional, and 35% of House Holds have SEPITC TANKS built in their
Homes itself and draw Ground Water from say 20 ft away.
WATER STEWARDSHIP / LEADERSHIP
Even when I was 19-23 years old, or beginning of my Engineering Career
I used to be in 100% controls from Day One and in Critical Situations
VETOED goods approved by DGS&D and ISI.
CWC Chairman and Mahir Shah, Member Planning Commission look STUPID
and IRRESPONSIBLE. THEY FAILED TO TELL US THE RELIABILITY, DURABILITY
& ECONOMICS OF WATER HARVESTING METHODS Versus Multipurpose Dams.
Here in the List even 85 Years Olds DULLARDS or Non Farmers are
representing Planning Commission.
http://planningcommission.gov.in/aboutus/committee/wrkgrp12/agri/sc_con_agri_allied.pdf
No Human is MADE RIGHT – it is not a Problem when some one say 10% Off
the Right Path but it is Horrendous when they are 180 Degrees Off the
Globally Accepted Line and Proven Technologies and Paths and over 90%
in wrong direction.
This Engineer Inventor knows no Project or Technology or Company is EQUAL
but People of India are Entitled to know the Good, The Bad and The Ugly.
In the DPR of Run of River projects – Lame Duck Dams to this inventor
it clearly reported just 39% of Power Generation Potential
utilization. These don’t provide Live Storage except for Couple of
days of rated water intake of power generators, no Flood Protection
and no Reliability – even when 100% of water overflows Dams there no
power is generated due to Siltation is written in DPR decades ago.
IT IS A TRAGEDY THAT CWC PROJECTS DON’T GIVE ANNUAL REPORTS THAT
PUBLICALLY DISCLOSE COST, BENEFITS & UTILIZATION OF PROJECTS.
WATER IS MOST CRITICAL for Poor Rural Economy – CWC should not just
DISCLOSE COST, BENEFITS & UTILIZATION OF PROJECTS IN ANNUAL REPORTS
but also Tell people the GDP of Command Area, Food Production, Usages
of water for all purpose including Households etc.
CWC should be ASSERTIVE & In Complete Control – Tell Government ‘This
Project Will Cost Say $4b but Would Serve $100m GDP and Additionally
is $25m.’

New Delhi, August 24: In a significant move towards fulfilling Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s commitment towards overall development of Eastern India and meeting its energy requirements, work is all set to commence on the 2,050 km Jagdishpur – Phulpur – Haldia natural gas pipeline which will serve as the ‘Energy Highway’ to carry the efficient and environment-friendly fuel to West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh.
The pipeline project, which will connect Eastern India with the national gas grid, was announced by the Hon’ble Prime Minister at a public function in Ranchi.
The pipeline will benefit millions of people in the four states and lead to setting up of City Gas Networks in 17 major cities of the region, i.e, Varanasi,  Allahabad, Patna,  Gaya, Chhapra,  Siwan,  Gopalganj, Mujaffarpur, Bettiah, Bhagalpur, Bokaro,  Dhanbad,  Ranchi,  Jamshedpur,  Asansol,  Durgapur and Kolkata. Thus, residents of these major cities can enjoy the convenience of piped natural gas (PNG) that directly reaches households and the economical compressed natural gas (CNG) for vehicles.
Besides city gas distribution, the pipeline will supply feedstock/fuel to fertilizer and power plants and major industries located in the region.
The estimated investment for the Jagdishpur – Phulpur – Haldia pipeline project is about Rs 10,000 crores. The first phase of the pipeline will have a capacity of 16 MMSCMD which would be augmented to 32 MMSCMD in the second phase.
The fertilizer plants which will benefit from the project include units at Gorakhpur, Barauni, Sindri and Matix Durgapur. In addition, the pipeline will also supply natural gas to Refineries at Barauni and Haldia, steel industries, power plants and other large SME manufacturing units in the region. The pipeline will also boost up agricultural and economic development and generate employment opportunities in the region.
Additional details:
The Jagdishpur – Phulpur – Haldia pipeline will consist of 922 km main line (36 inch-diameter) and 1,128 km spur lines and feeder lines (12 to 30 inch diameter). The compressor station will be located at Haldia.
GAIL has already started activities related to detailed survey of the pipeline route. The survey will include Engineering Survey (topography, Population Density Index, Soil Resistivity and Soil Investigation Survey) and Cadastral Survey (collection of revenue details of every village along the route along with ownership details). Actual construction activities will commence once the survey is completed.
It is estimated that the project will have 46 river crossings, 17 Railway crossings, 14 State Highway crossings and 12 national Highway crossings, thus making it one of the most difficult engineering projects of its kind.
The proposed pipeline will cover the following districts:
West Bengal (Main line – 385 km, spur lines – 360 km)
Jharkhand (Main line – 174 km, spur lines – 165 km)
Bihar (Main line – 205 km, spur lines – 416 km)
Uttar Pradesh (Main line – 158 km, spur lines – 187 km)

Duterte proposes another UN August 21, 2016 Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte railed against the United Nations today after it called for an end to the wave of killings unleashed by his war on drugs, saying he might leave the organisation. Duterte also said the Philippines will invite China and African nations to form another global organisation in place of United Nations, as world body is not doing enough to address hunger and terrorism. There appears to be human rights working for terrorist and mafia in third world to keep their states in dire state. Two UN human rights experts last week urged Manila to stop the extra-judicial executions and killings that have escalated since Duterte won the Presidency. About 900 suspected drug traffickers have been killed since he came to power after winning the election on May 9.
