Over 56,000 cases across the country were today disposed of by the third National Lok Adalat which also saw disbursal of 265 crore Rs as claims towards final settlement in bank recovery and cheques bounce cases. According to National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) in New Delhi,several banks, financial institutions and others participated in the Lok Adalat which was organised nationwide and arrived at final settlements of over 265 crore Rs.The Lok Adalat was today organised under the patronage of Chief Justice of India H L Dattu and the leadership of Supreme Court Judge Justice T S Thakur throughout the country except in Assam and Uttar Pradesh. The Lok Adalat was organised in all courts at all levels from the taluk courts to the districts courts, high courts and the Supreme Court. |
