No decision on India’s NSG membership;

The plenary meeting of the 48-member Nuclear Suppliers Group, NSG ended today with no decision on India’s membership bid. Agencies report, divisions persisted over admitting non-NPT members, with China leading the opposition.
The external Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup said New Delhi understands that despite procedural hurdles persistently raised by one country, a three hour long discussion took place last night on the issue of India’s future participation in the NSG.
An overwhelming number of members who took the floor supported India’s membership and appraised India’s application positively.
He said, India believes it is an early decision on its application and it remains in larger global interest. India’s participation in the NSG will further strengthen nuclear non- proliferation treaty and make global nuclear commerce more secure.
China’s stand that India’s membership application cannot be considered because it has not signed the Nuclear Non- Proliferation Treaty, NPT, was backed by nearly 10 other countries which effectively torpedoed India’s bid, although India had the strong backing of the US, the UK, France and a majority of countries in the nuclear trading group.

EU tell Britain to give notice of Exit

Britain has voted to ‘Leave’ the European Union, and David Cameron has quit as prime minister.Voters in Wales and the English shires have backed Britain exit from the EU in large numbers. The pound fell to its lowest level against the dollar since 1985 as the markets reacted to the results.UK Electoral Commission has declared that Britain has voted to leave European Union.
After announcement of the referendum results, British Prime Minister David Cameron said he will step down following defeat in Brexit referendum. By October a new Prime Minister will be in office, he said.
Following David Cameron’s revelation that he will step down as prime minister within three months of the Brexit vote, British politicians from both sides of the fray have reacted to the news. Many MPs took to Twitter to praise Cameron’s “dignified” concession speech and express regret over his resignation.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault today expressed discontent over Britain’s decision to leave the EU, saying Europe must win back the trust of its people. French President Francois Hollande had warned that Brexit would have extremely serious consequence. It is more than the future of the United Kingdom that is at stake, it’s the future of the European Union, Hollande said on Wednesday.
Referendum turnout was higher than at last year’s general election. Labour’s Shadow chancellor John McDonnell said the Bank of England may have to intervene to shore up the pound, which lost 3 per cent within moments of the first result showing a strong result for Leave in Sunderland and fell as much as 6.5 per cent against the euro.
UK Independence Party leader Nigel Farage, who has campaigned for the past 20 years for Britain to leave the EU, told supporters that this will be a victory for ordinary people. Britain’s 27 EU partners are anxiously watching the vote. They feared the departure of the bloc’s second biggest economy would weaken Europe’s unity and influence.
Senior European Union leaders, including President of the European Council Donald Tusk and President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Junker, have joined in the chorus of voices urging the UK to give formal notice of withdrawal from the 28-member bloc “as soon as possible.”
We regret this decision but respect it,” the leaders wrote in a joint statement Friday morning.
Any delay would unnecessarily prolong uncertainty…We stand ready to launch negotiations swiftly with the United Kingdom regarding the terms and conditions of its withdrawal from the European Union. Until this process of negotiations is over, the United Kingdom remains a member of the European Union, with all the rights and obligations that derive from this.

  • Addressing the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE), Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras warned that a Brexit could set a dangerous precedent.
He said Britain’s withdrawal from the EU could either be a “wake up call or the beginning of a very slippery, dangerous course”.
  • Speaking at a Vote Leave press conference, Leading Brexit campaigner Boris Johnson said that despite the Leave victory, Britain will continue to be European and that “our children will continue to be European.
Young people can look forward to a more secure and more prosperous future if we take back the democratic control that is the foundation of our economic prosperity” he said.
Above all we can find our voice in the world again. Powerful, liberal, humane, an extraordinary force for good. Yesterday the British people have spoken up for democracy.”
UK needs to formally declare its intention to leave the European Union as soon as possible, rather than waiting until October when David Cameron steps down as Prime Minister, a European Parliament leader has said.
An internal cat-fight of the Tory party is needed and a whole continent and all the British citizens who voted will have to wait for it. That’s not serious at all” said Guy Verhofstadt, leader of the ALDE liberals, the third biggest bloc in the European Parliament.
Verhofstadt warned that waiting to hand in formal notice would prolong the market turbulence that started as the results poured in.
NATO Secretary -General Jens Stoltenberg has confirmed Britain’s membership of the military alliance “will remain unchanged,” according to Reuters.
“I know that the United Kingdom’s position in NATO will remain unchanged,” Stoltenberg said.
The UK will remain a strong and committed NATO ally, and will continue to play its leading role in our alliance.
Stock markets sinks deep down across the world, today, after Britain voted, in an historic referendum, to leave the European Union. At home, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange had plummeted 811 points, or 3 percent, to 26,192, a short while ago.
The market had crashed over 1,000 points.  Nifty at the National Stock Exchange had plunged 263 points, to 8,008, a short while ago. Other key Asian markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore suffered big losses of between 1.3 percent and 8.6 percent, after the Brexit verdict. London’s key stock index had nosedived 7.6 percent, the German market had slumped 8.6 percent and the market in France had crashed 7.8 percent. In the currency markets, the British pound collapsed by 18 cents, easily the biggest fall in living memory, to hit its lowest since 1985. Back home, the rupee had plunged 62 paise, to 67.87 against the dollar in afternoon trade. Global crude oil prices slumped more than 6 percent in early deals, and were later still down as much as 2.70 dollars, at 48.21 dollars a barrel.
But safe haven global gold prices soared 8 percent, to the highest in more than two years. Later, gold was still up a hefty 5.1 percent, at 1,320 dollars an ounce. In Delhi, gold zoomed 1,205 rupees, to a 22-month high of 30,875 rupees per ten grams.

There appears to be human rights working for terrorist and mafia in third world to keep their states in dire state.
