Karnal, Haryana, May 15, 2012: Raju Singh of Noida shot a splendid
bogey-free six-under-63 to take the lead in round one of the PGTI
Feeder Tour event being held at the Madhuban Meadows Golf Course in
Karnal. Pawan Kumar of Delhi is second at five-under-64.

Raju Singh teed-off from the 10th and made early inroads with birdies
on the 12th, 13th and 16th holes to go three under at the turn. He
chipped it to within a couple of feet to set up birdies on the 12th
and 16th. Singh’s second nine was characterized by his superb
iron-play as he landed it within six feet to earn birdies on the
fourth and sixth. Raju bagged his last birdie of the day on the
seventh where he sank a 15-footer.

Raju said, “I was struck it well today. My iron-play was particularly
good. I also played some brilliant chip shots, especially on the 12th
where I almost chipped-in. I’ve made a perfect start to the event. I
now need to keep my focus in order to stay in contention.”

Pawan Kumar of Delhi made six birdies and a bogey in his round of
five-under-64 that placed him second.

Wasim Khan of Delhi, Chandigarh’s Randhir Singh Ghotra and Aditya Raj
Kumar Chauhan of the Golden Greens Golf & Country Club, Gurgaon, are
in joint third at four-under-65.

Aas Mohammad of Meerut fired a hole-in-one on the seventh during his
