AirAsia’s Kuala Lumpur – Solo makes a comeback!
Business plans in Indonesia realigned and the world’s best LCC set to go in full force!


SEPANG, 16 NOVEMBER 2012 – AirAsia is set to blaze the trail in Indonesia by making the Kuala Lumpur – Solo route available once again, after announcing a brief pause in operations early this year as part of the airline’s realignment of business plans in Indonesia.

Flights for this route will re-commence on 21 December 2012 with 3 weekly flights onTuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

To celebrate, AirAsia is offering promotional all-in-fares from as low as RM99 one-way from Kuala Lumpur – Solo, from now until 25 November 2012 with the travel period from 21 December 2012 until 30 September 2013.  The promotional fares are exclusively available online atwww.airasia.com.

Indonesia is a very important market and presents many opportunities for the airline to expand and prosper. The momentary breather on Kuala Lumpur - Solo early this year was a part of the realigning process of its business plans in Indonesia, in order to effectively capitalize on the prospects presented by the market.

With Indonesia enjoying sustained economic growth, demand for flight services have increased and AirAsia is set to tap into this enhanced demand. With superior business plans in place, the airline is confident to be a leader in the market.
AirAsia have flown more than 9 million guests from Malaysia to Indonesia so far, and is dedicated to further development of Malaysian-Indonesian routes which will bring positive economic impacts through more business and tourism activities.   

Solo, the heart of Javanese Culture, is located in Central Java. The vibrant city is 1 hour drive from Yogyakarta and 2 hours drive from Semarang (the capital of central java). The city boasts two beautiful Javanese palaces called Kraton Mangkunegaran & Kraton Kesunanan, while the surrounding countryside is home to some of Indonesia's most glorious ancient temples. Solo is also popular for its batik industry, while Triwindu antique Market is famous among Tourists for its antique hunt.

Besides re-commencement of Kuala Lumpur – Solo, AirAsia is increasing flight frequencies fromPenang to Medan to 24x weekly starting from 1 December 2012.

Promotional all-in-fares from as low as RM79 one-way are available on www.airasia.com fromnow until 25 November 2012, for the travel period from 1 December 2012 until 30 September 2013.

Guests are encouraged to pre-book their check-in baggage allocation online along with their flight bookings as they are able to save up to 66% as compared to checking-in their bags over the airport counter.

Apart from that, guests are also able to pre-book their in-flight meals with a wide variety of hot meals available on board with an option to book up to two meals for each guest. Check-in baggage allocation, in-flight meals, Pick-A-Seat, travel insurance and more are all available online and guests are able to add or make changes to their booking very simply through ‘Manage My Booking’.
