The AAP announces the launch of its youth wing in Delhi with the objective of further increasing the youthful vigour of this young political party, and taking the idea of clean politics effectively to the people. It will be known by the name of Aam Aadmi Party Youth Wing.

The formal launch of the AAP Youth Wing will take place on September 27, the 107th birth anniversary of  revolutionary martyr Bhagat Singh. The Youth Wing has planned programmes across the city to mark the occasion.

In its first preparatory meeting with the party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, the AAP Youth Wing decided to focus on unemployment, women safety and other key issues concerning the youth and students of the country.

It will also focus on awareness campaigns for the youth and will lead movements for empowerment of youth in decision making. The AAP Youth Wing will also strive to channelize the youth energy towards positive campaigns.

The Delhi unit of AAP Youth Wing will be headed by party MLA from Tilak Nagar, Jarnail Singh and Karol Bagh MLA Vishesh Ravi will be its convenor.

Its vice-presidents are Ankush Narang, Bilal Ahmed, Yogesh and Nandan Mishra. Vandana Singh is the secretary of the Youth wing’s Delhi unit.

Membership drive will be launched across the city to enroll the youth below 35 years of age as members of the Youth Wing, since the youth constitute one-third of Delhi’s population.

The organizational incharges for all 14 districts of Delhi have also been appointed and the work is on to set-up committees in all 273 wards of the national capital. The immediate target after this is to expand the organization upto the booth level.

The AAP is in the process of forming frontal organisations for all segments of the society and after AAP Ki Mahila Shakti, which has now successfully set-up units at the booth level, the Youth Wing is the second frontal organisation to have come into existence.
