UNDERSTANDING INTERDEPENDENT REALITY
with Ven. Geshe Lhakdor
Ven. Geshe Lhakdor has served His Holiness the Dalai Lama as his translator and religious assistant since 1989. In this capacity he has accompanied His Holiness to many important conferences and forums throughout the world. He has translated numerous books by His Holiness from English to Tibetan and from Tibetan to English. He is also the Director of the Central Archive of His Holiness, a member of the Advisory Board of the Institute of Tibetan Classics in Montreal, Canada, and an Honorary Professor at the University of British Columbia, Canada. He is, at present, the Director of the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives and head of Science Education Project.
Geshe Lhakdor will also be available for personal interviews and consultations on the days of the workshop by prior appointment.

Ogyen Trinley Dorje
His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje was born on June 1985 in a nomad family in the Lhatok region of Eastern Tibet. The young nomad boy named Apo Gaga, “Happy Brother” was enthroned, on September 27, 1992 as reincarnation of 16th Karmapa and recognized by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje is the head of the 900 year old Karma Kagyu Lineage and guide to millions of Buddhists around the world. Currently 29 years old, the Karmapa resides in his temporary home at Gyuto Monastery in India after making a dramatic escape from Tibet in the year 2000.
