A man jumped over the fence and started running towards the White House, apparently minutes after Barack Obama and his daughters had departed for the weekend, Secret Service spokesman Edwin Donovan said. The incident sparked a brief evacuation of the White House. Donovan added that the reason the man was allowed to run so far was that he wasn’t carrying a weapon. The man, identified as Omar J. Gonzalez, 42, of Copperas Cove, Texas, was arrested inside the North Portico doors of the presidential residence. Gonzales was charged with unlawful entry into the White House. It is still unclear why he decided to jump over the fence.

From my heart, I thank the families who maintained their dignity,” Davutoglu said on his Twitter account. Op against ISIS ‘illegal’ unless UNSC approves – Churkin
Any international anti-terrorist operation against the Islamic State (IS) needs consent from the governments whose countries are targeted, or the UN Security Council’s approval, Russia’s UN envoy Vitaly Churkin said at the Security Council meeting on Friday.“All other options will be regarded as illegal and undermining international and regional stability,” Churkin said. Dictating ready-made solutions will not work in Iraq or Syria, the Russian diplomat added. The framework of the political process needs “to be agreed by the Iraqis themselves, because they are responsible for the future of their country,” he said. “We are extremely concerned over the voiced intentions to strike ISIS positions in Syria without any discussions with the national government in Damascus.” The statement comes as the US – which has been launching airstrikes to hit ISIS targets in Iraq – looks to expand its military operation to Syria, without Syrian President Bashar Assad’s consent.

The sanctions against the two banks were imposed earlier this year.

20092014
Medha Patkar, Amra Ram lead Rally of People’s organisations to the Vidhan Sabha against the Rajasthan Land Acquisition Bill, 2014
18th September, 2014
Led by National leaders Medha Patkar and Amra Ram, more than 250 farmers, youth and women rallied to the Vidhan Sabha, shouting slogans, Withdraw the Rajasthan Land Acquisition Bill, 2014. On reaching the Vidhan Sabha, the police was so aggressive, that even before we reached the barricade we were stopped by the police with sticks, this was not acceptable to people that they resisted being stopped and in this process one woman’s eye was hurt. This act of the police was condemned. The participants in the Rally were from various anti displacement struggles and those working on land rights in the States, from the districts of Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Udaipur, Rajsamand, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Alwar, Pali and Jaipur. People were outraged at the audacity of the CM proposing a law, which would criminalise protest, sending to Jail people for upto six months with a fine of upto 300,000 INR. It was also clear that the intent of the law was to hurriedly hand over fertile agriculture land to the corporates.
Addressing the participants, Ms. Medha Patkar said that the Government of Rajasthan was bringing back laws with Colonial times jursiprudence and very clearly the agenda is to change the 2013 law passed by the Parliament. In 2013 the Parliament passed the” The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation, Resettlement Act, 2013″, a law which ensured that the voice and rights of Farmers, Agriculture labourers, urban poor and other displaced was heard and kept intact, which this law is going to reverse. J This law is not only antidemocratic but from the point of view of food security it is a fiasco as there would be no farm land left for growing food and also the first towards handing over agriculture to industry. She felt that a broad coalition of organisations should come together and prevent the infringement on their right to life and dissent. She also shared that the 2013 law came out of the work of two Standing committees of Parliament, one led by present Rajasthan Governor, Kalyan singh and the other led by present Lok Sabha Speaker, Sumitra Mahajan. But all this has been forgotten as the BJP has come with the agenda of handing over this country to the corporate. She said that if such policies and attitudes were pursued, the farmers of this country would teach the BJP a lesson.
Speaking on the occasion Ex MLA Amra Ram, President of the All India Kisan Sabha, said that this law had been rejected by his organisation and under no circumstance would farmers accept this law. He said that the CM had pulled wool over people’s eyes, the special session was called to pass this bill, the passage of the judicial appointments bill was the facade. He said that we needed to build the andolan at the tehsil and village level, which the All India Kisan Sabha has already done. He reiterated that She first changed the labour laws, in favour of corporate, now the land acquisition law is being brought in quickly hand over agriculture land to corporates. This had to be opposed tooth and nail.
Nesar Ahmad and Kailsh Meena narrated some of the key problems with the law consisted of the blanket removal of the clauses related to social impact assessment no mention of the word rehabilitation, thus taking away the clauses of mandatory rehabilitation by Goverment and Corporates whoever be the acquirer, complete undermining of the Gram Sabha a mandatory provision in Panchayat Extension to scheduled areas act (PESA). It was also emphasised that the commercial exchange of land at DLC rates was an eyewash as the DLC rate that would be calculated from the period of registration. This was again worse than the double current market rates principle, of 2013 law.
The assembly of people was also addressed by three Congress MLAs who came from inside the State Assembly where the debate was happening. They stated that their party was opposing it tooth and nail inside and outside. They said that even if they were few in number the Select Committee, they would ensure that this law does nt get passed. The three MLAs riding high on the tide of victory expressed solidarity. The three were Ramesh Mehar Meena from Sapotra, Ghanshyam from Toda Bhim and Govind Dotsara from Sikar. The Aam Admi Party spokesperson, Shailendra stated that their party would continue fighting against displacement and this law. They had a clear position on it.
A delegation of five persons, led by Medha Patkar and consisting of Sawai Singh, Nesar Ahmad, Dr. Sanjay Madhav, Capt Deep Singh were told that they would be taken in to meet the CM, however, there they were made to meet the OSD, Mr. Saharan, so they walked out and told him that her not meeting the representatives of Farmers and People’s organisations, showed her real anti farmer face. The dharna outside lifted with slogans that the struggle would not stop till this law would not be withdrawn.

Jitu Rai fires India to First Gold at Incheon
20092014
New Delhi, September 20: Fresh from his Silver medal at the World Championship 10 days back, Jitu stormed to Gold in Incheon, making it 6 medals in a row in 6 competitions in World Shooting Since June.
Jitu the World No 5 qualified in 7th place for the final with a score of 559. World Champion Jin Jingoh of Korea qualified in first place with 568. In the final Jitu was in the hunt from the word go and stayed in touch with the leaders despite a shaky start. But the form, which has seen him dominate World Shooting and rise to World No 5 in 50m Pistol, ensured he started to catch up with the best. He took the lead in the 19th shot and on the final shot clinched the Gold as Vietnam’s Nguyen Hoang Phuong cracked under the pressure. Jitu held his nerve and a 8.4 clinched India’s first Gold.
Jitu has already won India a quota place for the 2016 Rio Olympics and this form puts him firmly in contention for an Olympic Medal.
Elated from India’s performance at the Asian Games 2014, Mr. Raninder Singh, President, NRAI, who is currently in Spain with the team for the World Shooting Championships said, “It’s a great feeling to see Jitu Rai do it again. His consistency and hunger for more has helped him outclass the field very often. Jitu has earned the rare distinction in International shooting, for a single athlete to earn a medal for his country in every competition he has participated in this calendar year. He is truly a phenomenon and inspiration to our country and his team mates, and we hope that he earns many more laurels for us in the days to come.”
This was India’s second medal at the ongoing Asian Games after Shweta Chaudhry’s bronze in the 10M air pistol event early in the morning today. Shweta, who had won Silver in the 2006 Doha Asian Games, won a Bronze shooting a total of 176.4 in the final to clinch the bronze medal. Earlier in the day Shweta, ranked 46th in the world, took all by surprise as she finished fourth in the qualifying round with a score of 383.
Commenting on Shweta’s Bronze medal he further added, “Shweta’s Bronze in the 10 M Air Pistol category has once again proven that the Indian Shooting Squad has a strong bench and we are here to win Medals. Shweta has performed brilliantly, and kept the national Flag flying high. We hope that Shweta and Jitu form to be the stepping stone for many more Medals in the Asian Games this year and it helps the confidence levels of the Indian contingent.”
In the Men’s Trap event, 2006 World Champion Manavjit Singh Sandhu shot 72 out of 75 to stay in contention for a medal on day 2 of the competition at Incheon.
