Vincenzo Rabito è un siciliano analfabeta che racconta il Novecento in maniera appassionata e commovente, attraverso pagine dattiloscritte raccolte in quaderni legati con la corda. Paesaggi di oggi e di ieri, filmati d’archivio e musiche elettroniche, terre vicine e lontane fanno da sfondo a una lingua inventata, né italiano né dialetto, musicale ed espressiva come quella di un cantastorie./Vincenzo Rabito, an illiterate Sicilian, a striking storyteller, through a blend of imaginary, musical language – neither Italian nor dialect, recounts Italian twentieth century history through thousands of dictated, tightly written, rope-bound pages, tracing the extremes of a century marked by poverty and economic boom, disgrace and redemption.  Sharing their dream, Rabito gives an impassioned and unique autobiographical perspective on a complicated part of Italian history.
