GOVERNMENT HAS TAKEN SEVERAL MEASURES TO ATTRACT INVESTMENTS, SAYS SHRI RAJNATH SINGH

New Delhi, January 12, 2015

            Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh has said that the Government has taken a series of measures to attract investments with special focus on providing an impetus to the manufacturing sector. Addressing the gathering at the 'Vibrant Gujarat' Summit in Gandhinagar today, Shri Rajnath Singh that the Government has also moved ahead with putting in place the regulatory clearance systems that are business friendly. To this end, efforts are currently on to integrate a number of central and state services with the e-Biz portal, he added.

            The Union Home Minister said that the 'Vibrant Gujarat' Summit is not just about investments, it is about injecting positivity in the economic environment. Shri Rajnath Singh said that the event is about bringing Global and Local inclusiveness in our economic processes. Encouraging the entrepreneurs to invest in India, he said  the Government wants to know what more it needs to do to accelerate the pace of development of industry and business in the country.

Shri Rajnath Singh said that the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has changed the political idiom and political discourse in the country. Now everyone is talking about good governance and development in the country, he remarked. The Union Home Minister said that Gujarat is not only a 'Land of Opportunities' but also a 'Mother of Opportunities'. Shri Rajnath Singh said that Gujarat has made rapid strides in improving its physical and social infrastructure and has proved to be the growth engine of modern India. Over the years this Summit has transformed itself from an Investment Promotion Exercise into a Growth Propelling Event, he added.
Highlighting the role of Mahatma Gandhi in India's freedom struggle, the Union Home Minister said that Gujarat has given birth to many great personalities. Shri Rajnath Singh hailed the role of Sardar Patel in uniting the country and ensuring the integrity of the nation.
Noting that the six 'Vibrant Gujarat' summits held so far have been a resounding success, Shri Rajnath Singh said that the event has contributed to transformation of Gujarat into a global business hub.
